Now you have really hit the all time low for asking a silly question as there are many registered many licensed and many which are neither on inland waters and coastal seas plus many sea going as well.

If you wish to pursue this question then you will need to start by going to all the web sites of all the organisations that record craft and there are hundreds.

I'll have a guess at this as there is no way that anyone knows the true number. If you include dinghies and inflatables I reckon there are about a million in UK. Certainly not less could be slightly more.

I have just been down to Falmouth to find out and the thinking is that there are between one and two million boats in the UK
