This is not a Harley bashing exersize, the subject just came up in a conversation the other day so I am curious. I know that some alloy wheels, hubs and swingarms have been made in Australia for the last twenty years.

I traded in a car and bought a new nissan on 5/29. Six weeks later the dealer contacts me and tells me that the car had a salvage title. I didn't know it. Apparantely it shows it right on front of the title. I signed the back of it where it says To the best of my knowlede the car has never been seriously damaged. I bought it used 2 1/2 years ago. The dealer wants me to give him 1,000 back because he says he will lose a lot of money on the car. He says it is a serious offense. It seems to me he is in the business of trading in cars. Shouldn't he have noticed the work Salvage on the car or run a check on it? What are my options. Someone please help.

did you ever actually had one? If so, did you manage to land back on the runway or was the plane OK after you put it in the bush? Beginners please spear me with your "crash landing simulation".

I've got a JVC car stereo, which I had fitted in my car a few years ago. It's got a removable front panel, for safety. Unfortunately the front panel got dropped, and part of the screen is damaged internally, so you can't see the left side of text. I want to avoid buying a whole new stereo, because I don't know enough about electrics in cars to fit it myself, so it would cost me extra to get someone else to do it. Is it possible just to buy a replacement for the front panel?

My car is a 1985 Chevrolet Caprice. I heard that the s10 manual steering box will bolt up, so i installed it. It works good, except that when I am driving straight, the steering wheel is not straight. it is off about 1/3 to the left. All the points of disconnection (steering wheel to column, shaft to box, box to pitman arm) mount ONLY ONE WAY. I cannot just mount it a tooth off. The exception is I think I could dremel out one off the teeth where the pitman arm mounts, but I rather not. Is there a way to disassemble the steering box, and adjust something? There is no info that I can find online about manual steering boxes.

My alarm is sounding for the airbag or seatbelt pretensioner fault. My mechanic says it is usually a seatbelt pretensioner but it will cost $55 to put the scanner on it to check which one it is. That's fine however apparently after the seatbelt pretensioner is replaced then apparently the module has to be reset which it usually refuses to do and a new module is needed. This can be up to $600 I was told! Does anyone have experience with this repair? Anyone had it done or anyone do them? Is this module story common? Thanks, JO

Hi guys,

I'm after a Sat Nav, and have heard that the Tom Tom ones are generally the best.

However, I still hear scare stories even about those (not knowing one-way streets, braking when you try to update it via your PC etc)...have you found any of these, and if so, how did you resolve them?

Are Tom Toms the way forward, and if so, which one? If not, which one should I get instead and why?

Thanks for your help! I live in the UK by the way, but I don't think that'll matter as most models are available wherever you are.

Oh, and I intend to pay not much more than £150...

This is more of a warning than a question. Do NOT take your car to car x or midas for work. They will rip you off!! Ask around, find a reliable place and take it there. This is from experience!!
