This is more of a warning than a question. Do NOT take your car to car x or midas for work. They will rip you off!! Ask around, find a reliable place and take it there. This is from experience!!

Here's my story. My GF's car needed brake work, so I looked in the paper and noticed a coupon for brake work from car x. I knew they were scammers, but I figured I had a coupon so why not? So I go over there thinking it will cost me around $200 or so, cause the gf let it go for too long so I figured it probably needed a few extras. After about 15 min. the guy came and showed me that it would cost $500 to fix all the brakes and replace all the rotors. I told him there was no way I had that kind of money and to just put the wheels back on. He then goes on to tell me that he in fact talked to my gf on the phone and she told him to fix it!! I said you probably have the wrong person in mind. My gf is one of those laid back blonde american girls who wouldn't call unless the wheels fell off the car!! Anyway took it to a small town mechanic who fixed all that was wrong for $100.00 and the car is still running fine. Stay away for car x and midas and do not go there for any reason!!!!!

So true. I am not sure of their muffler repairs, but as far as their other "services", beware. I have an 89 Aerostar that the front right wheel bearing seized up on the spindle. The closest "garage" was Midas. They charged my over $400 dollars to fix it!! I gave $900 for the van. They charged me $125 for a USED spindle. They wouldn't tell me what yard they got it from, but I can tell you from experience, I would have only paid $50 if I had gotten it myself. I asked the manager, "Does the Midas Touch come with a kiss?" He didn't answer me. Beware.

I don't know about that educated auto repair professionals like me even use Midas. For under car muffler work mostly. Other servicing I don't know about.
