My sister's transmission broke in her 96' Ford Explorer XLT w/148K miles. KBB for fair condition is $3.6K for the Los Angeles area. Repair estimate is $1.5K.

This question is serious..think about things like fuel consumption..property taxes..reliability..comfort..and so forth.
Also..you will have to have this car for as long as it lasts and it will be your daily driver and your only car, and you cannot sell it and buy another. So dont say i'll have a ferrari and sell it and buy another car and keep the left over money.

I use grade 89 in my jeep now but though of using grade 87 if I used Shell or BP or Mobil. I don't know if their grade or is it octain better than other stations.

From the TSA website -
"Suggested footwear includes flip-flops and thin-soled sandals without metal."

In an evacuation, flip flops and sandals are not the best shoes to wear, that's been proven. Do you think it is irresponsible for the TSA to suggest footwear that the FAA and NTSB say are dangerous for flying?

Seriously,what is the fastest car you have ever driven?I was at a Botnic Chevrelet earlier today and drove a new 06 Corvette.It was unbeilievable.I didn't think they would let me but i showed the my licence,registration and insurance to my vehical,and a major credit card.I don't think they would have neededto see all of that ID if i didn't pull in the lot with my 89 5th ave.If you haven't done this it really is a must do thing,unless you own one then obiously you dont have to.Try it,i promise it will make your day!!
