For an American product like Ford, Grand Touring. It's a translation of Gran Tourismo. In Europe, GT usually refers to a good, sporty front-engined touring car--sometimes a four-seater (think Jaguar E-type 2+2), but always with ample room for luggage. In the U.S., it usually refers to the specific engine and interior packages available for the car--a higher trim level than a given base model.

Grand Touring, not Gran Turismo. I posted that on another thread but recently found out it's wrong.

GT cars are highly modified cars,it allow cars with smaller engines to compete at a lighter weight. Using tube frame chassis's make them equal to much larger engines.

It means the sportier version - usually more horsepower under the hood than the regular (non GT) version.

I believe "Grand Touring". At least that's what it used to mean in the old days!
