I make $500.00 a week, my wife ,$400.00 a week ($900 a week). 35% goes for taxes, fed, state , med, ss and all the other taxes for earning money. So I have 65% of spending money< WRONG. I buy ciggeretts or beer 100% tax = 25 bucks for cigs and 5 bucks a 12 pk of beer. I buy gas to go to work to pay taxes 100%, I don"t have a write off. I buy anything 7% Sales tax right off the top. I own a house 10% of what I make. For my car plates here is another 1.5%. My phone bill, look at yours it is like 20%. In my house loan I have paid more for property taxes than I origanaly paid for my house. Taxes should not have no write off s. for the rich man, his life shouldn't be excemt. Out to eat $500.00 milage $500.00, Intertament $5000,00 , being rich and having a tax exsempt life you live Pricless. They will soon tax a fart. How much money is taken from your paycheck in taxes? I know it's different in different states and depends on what you put on your tax forms for allowances, but I'm trying to figure out what my take home pay will be for a job that pays 10 an hour, working 20 hours a week. Thanks.

If All inheritance was taxed at the same rates as salaries and wages, the average working person would only need to pay about half what they pay now (for the government to have the same revenue) Some say it isn't fair. I've heard all the arguement. "its double taxation". Well so is sales tax, import tax and property tax. The simple way to avoid paying it: spend it wile your alive, and give people who actually work for a living a break.

Hi, so thanks to a big misunderstanding on my (ex) fathers part my 2005 taxes were not filed. Being a dependent then he screwed alot up. So I filled out a 2005 1040 EZ and NYS tax return.. Now im wondering the 1040 says i owe $305.... Does anyone have any idea how much I might end up paying after filing and late fees. I called the IRS and the lady said she is not allowed to answer that. I heard there is some formula...Thanks for any idea.

My parents gave a gift of stock in 1995. In 2005 I sold it and closed the brokerage account. I was under the impression that the cost basis was the market value at the time of the gift. The stock depreciated slightly from 1995 to 2005 so I didn't report capital gains to the IRS. I got a notice from IRS the other day saying that I owe taxes based on the cost basis that the brokerage reported. (based on the original purchase by my parents in 1989)

I know margin interest is only deductible up to the amount of net invesment income I've received. Does that mean if I have $10k in short term capital gains and $10k in short term capital losses for a given year--IOW, no overall net gain--that I can't deduct margin interest? Thanks in advance.

My dad left me an inheritence ib Belgium, It is in a fund in my name at a big bank there. My question is what is the best way to bring it over here? Do I pay taxes in Belguim and US? It is less than a million doallars but the entire estate was more than a million. Bank tells me to leave it there and travel over and take small amounts but that doesn't sound right to me. Every finacial advsior I meet with just wants to sell me funds. I want to buy a house and earn interest on the remainder. Is there a certain type of tax lawyer that would specialize in this

then why am i getting taxed everytime i turn around? I mean there is a fourty percent death tax(money you inherate) cant spell that... any way. you get taxed when your paid, taxed when you purchase, and taxed annualy on property. and if you change state some of them make you pay property taxes on your car again in the same year... i hate it. if the goverment would stop greasing so many pockets(other countries included) we wouldnt need these taxes!!!
