It only shows the amount I recieved for pay. I am preapproved for a car loan and the dealer and company require me to submit a recent paystub to verify employment. If I give them my paystub but doesnt show taxes, number of hours worked, etc. would this present a problem to the ccccpany/dealer in terms of denying me the loan. Or would they require me to authorize them to ontact my employer to verify emploment. Please help since I need to get a car soon. Thanks..

I have about 30,000 to invest. 401 and roth ira's are maxed so I might just invest in a couple Vanguard mutual funds. As far as tax time, do I only report gains/losses whenever I sell the fund or do I have to report each year?? Any suggestions on some good funds to buy into???

And what happens if there is no funds left for us in 35 yrs-can we arrest the IRS?

Kind of like pay your taxes or else..........we arrest you-charge you more fines and take you to court

But nothing will happen to the government if they don't have money to give back to the retiring citizen.

Is that a double standard?

How screwed up is that???

I have purchased dividend reinvestment stock over a period of 20 plus years, every year I have paid tax on the dividends that were reinvested. Due to a misfortune I recently lost all of my records. If I sell all the stock how do I go about filing income tax since taxes have already been paid on the reinvested dividends but I have no records.

Any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks.

If I didn't file this last April, but go ahead and file next April, and disregard the last year? Will I automatically get in trouble, or only if I am audited?

my daughter quit her job and was paid a final check with the unused accrued vacation time added in. but the employer deducted far more taxes from the final check than for prior checks that were for more money. the employer said that the IRS withholding taxes are higher for paid unused vacation time. does anyone know if this is right??

My new job pays minimum wage and does not take out taxes. We claim them at the end of the year and pay them then. I am working for a non-profit place that helps people donate cars to charity. How much should I be saving from each paycheck to ensure that I will have enough money to pay my taxes at the end of the year? My boss told me the girls all save about 15 dollars a week, but that doesn't seem like enough - considering at my current job they deduct about $100.

Taxing pumpkins? Give Me a Break:

IOWA has about 3,000,000 people and is about 146,000km². So if every person purchased a pumpkin for $1.00 at IA sales tax rate that is a whopping $150,000 less cost to collect. Even if ever citizen purchased 5 pumpkins for the same dollar /pumpkin price this is still less that 1,000,000.

This may cover the salary of the non-thinking bureaucrat who decided to tax this crop ---

$150,000 is a tad more that a dollar a km². Could not the state of IOWA save that much buy turning off the lights for the evening?

claim 2 dependents on our W2's? We're so confused on what filing status we should have. We're trying to avoid owing money.

Should one of us claim 2 and the other claim 1 dependent, so that we don't wind up owing? We have no children.
