You don't need to do anything. Anyone can file a Form 1040 return. If you are eligible to use Form 1040-EZ it will be quicker for you but you can ALWAYS use Form 1040 instead. It won't make any difference in your tax liability or affect any refund that you have coming. NOBODY is required to use Form 1040-EZ; it is strictly optional if you are eligible to use it.

Whatever you do, do NOT file another return! That will only mess things up. And please don't file an amended return. That's on Form 1040-X and will give you a serious brain freeze. There's NOTHING to amend anyway so don't do it!

No problem. The 1040 just has extra lines on it, that you wouldn't have had any entry on. Anyone can use a 1040, even if they qualify to use a 1040EZ or 1040A.

You can file the regular 1040 even though you could have used the 1040EZ - it doesn't matter. The EZ is much easier to fill out and is available for people that qualify and aren't "itemizing", but you don't have to change anything if you don't want to. If you do want to do the EZ instead, you have to file and "ammeded return"
