It's true. If it's the first time you've heard of this, look it up. If you've already heard of it, look it up some more.

I'm currently being paid as a 1099 wage earner and I also own an S-Corp. The company who pays me the 1099 income is not able to pay the S-Corp directly because they pay with a pay card from Bank of America, and BofA only issues paycards to people with social security numbers.

Since my S-Corp has no social security card, it can't get a paycard and hence can't be paid directly.

My question is how can I get the 1099 income into the S-Corp without having to show I've personally earned 1099 income? I want to make it so my S-Corp has earned the money, not me. I want to avoid the 15% self-employment tax.

Thanks

I just got a letter from the local tax bureau in PA where i used to live stating i never filed a 2005 or 2006 return, and that i am liable for 1% local tax during this time. I cannot believe that i should have to pay local tax when i did not work or live there! any info or help is appreciated

My ex husband and I had to file our taxes together for the 2005 year, I didn't turn in my W2's and now the IRS sent me a letter with both our names addressed on it. We filed taxes last year using only his W2. Who are they going after for the money? I don't have the money now to even make payments to them and I want to know can I just not respond and just wait this out till this years taxes and let them seize my check? Help my deadline date is Nov. 21.

In Iowa - what should you do to pay your taxes - do you reccommend savign money back until tax time or paying as you get the income in... do you reccommend getting an accountant to handle this?? Also, do you reccommend having a separate business bank account to put income from daycare in? Any suggestions appreciated!!

I would like to learn how the TAX system works in the states, so a friend of mine told me to think about taking Enrolled Agent courses. I was wondering if there are FREE enrolled agent courses in this country (U.S.)?

Thanks in advance.

I live in Florida and am working for an LLC as a contractor for the first time ever. I travel all over the country speaking at colleges and Universities. I am concerned about the issue of paying estimated taxes. I have been told that the approx taxes on $40,000 are just under $8,000 WITHOUT deductions....I don't know how much I will end up making but I am guessing close to 50,000.....I would like to stick wtih the 40,000 number for now though. Is this statement true and if so, how was it figured?? I have sent estimated payments totaling around 5,000...I am WORRIED about 4/15......

Or buy 2 at a combined price of 900k and claim the second home as a business ?

Anyone know where I can do that?

I just conducted business with a company and they asked me to write the payment check to their personal name. I guess this is legal but I started to think that maybe they were trying to skirt paying IRS taxes on business. Opinions?
