And what happens if there is no funds left for us in 35 yrs-can we arrest the IRS?

Kind of like pay your taxes or else..........we arrest you-charge you more fines and take you to court

But nothing will happen to the government if they don't have money to give back to the retiring citizen.

Is that a double standard?

How screwed up is that???

We have to give them our money-but they don't have to give it back to us if they don't have it when it is time to retire.

its the government and the get to do what they want and then they tell us its are fault because we voted for the politicians that do these things and if we don't vote its still are fault. there is no way to win with a crooked government like we have. the government is supposed to be for the people but somewhere they got the idea that the people are supposed to be for the government. this government was formed by people who fought and died to protect this country and stop other countries from doing what the government is doing to us now.

What is your definition of not paying your Social Security Taxes?

If your employer withholds tax but doesn't pay it to IRS, you still get credit.
If the employer reports the incorrect amount, the adjustment must be made within 3 years, 3 months and 15 days of the close of the year or the record will not be adjusted.
If you are self employed and under-report or don't pay your self employment tax, your account does not get credited.
If you are self employed and fail to file your income tax return reporting the self employment tax 3 years, 3 months and 15 days of the close of the year you will not get credit but will still owe the tax.

If you dont pay you go to jail. In NH they just ended a stand off that had been on going for almost a year. Yup it was about a couple who had not paid and refused to pay taxes. Double standard you bet. I only have 15 years to go , but not planing on it being there. If you say that cant happen just ask the former Delta folks who put in there whole lives and Delta porked them all and took there pentions. You had better be ready or ealse its cat food time for you.

First of all, there will be Social Security in the future. Even at the worst, they can pay out 70% of promised benefits. So you will get most of it that's due to you.

The gov't is made up of who we elect to represent us. We've been told that SS will be in trouble for 25 years. Both parties in power have done nothing, because both sides tell us that if the other side's solution is implemented, grandma will be living in a refrigerator box and eating cat food. Both are totally to blame!

So stop sending them back year after year.

Personally, I think they'll trim the benefits, sneak up the taxes a little, and pay maybe 90% of what they said they would. I'm just trying to put as much away in my private accounts as possible.

FDR is to blame. If he would have set up SS as a mandatory private retirement savings account, we'd all be a lot better off.

What happens if you don't pay your social security taxes?
You don't have a choice. You must pay else you will end up in liens and levies and that the amount you owe will keep on multiplying and life will become miserable.

If there is no funds left for us in 35 years? Can we arrest IRS?
Relax, this will never happen. The United States is the most powerful and most capable country in the world.
