I worked one day for a company last year; they take your pictures sitting in a vehicle, simulating an accident, and I received $150.00 (without tax) for it. I asked the agency that sent me to do this job, they will not send me W2 form because I did not make more tahn $600.00 with them. Do I need to declare this (150.00) as a part of my income? If so, what form should I use?

My question concerns only a fully deductible IRA, and the confusion over the IRS wording "to quality....you must not be eligible to participate in a company retirement plan". My company does not offer a pension plan , but does offer a 401k plan, so does that disqualify me from a deductible IRA ? Basically the question comes down to the defination of a "company retirement plan".

My daughters live with me all year except for 8 weeks in the summer, and he claimes one of my daughters. It would make a big difference in my refund if I claimed her. He had it done up in the divorce papers that he will always get to claim her. I was very young then, and thought that was the way everyone did it. It does not seem right for him to be able to do that since I am the one who takes care of them all year long, and he doesnt even see them but once a year, because he lives 2000 miles a way ( his choice) and I am the one that makes sure they have everything they need and want, and all he has to do throughout the year is write a check and sed it..........which is the bare minimum that he has to anyway. I could so a lot for my girls with that extra money!! What can I do??

I received a 1099-R after filing my return. This was for a 401k distribution. Do I need to file an amended return and does it matter if the distribution was under 250.00 and tax withheld was under 45.00? If I do need to refile what forms do I use? Thanks.

My husband and I were married in May 2005. When I changed my status at work on my W2's, they changed my expemption from 0 to 1. I had less taxes withheld on each paycheck. I did not want 1 exemption, I wanted to keep 0. Can I change my exemption back to 0? We also have a rental property. Do I have to claim the whole rent check each month or just the amount left over after we paid the mortgage on the rental property?

I'm using Turbo Tax and it gives me the option to receive my refund for both Federal and State via electronically. But do I still have to send in my paper copy of my W2, 1098, 1099, etc, etc to them? Or do they have an electronic copy that is sent to them from my employer, mortage company, etc etc?

My husbands employer gave him W2 on 02/05 and the whole thing was wrong. My husband told them his earned wages were
3 times the amount they put down. They said it's too late we already
filed and my husband told them he would not lie and he would not
file this W2 in this manner. My husband has copies of all the work
he did and the amount he was paid.He ran this copy of the log they
keep at work.So he knows for sure this is wrong. The company is run by middle eastern employers who always acted fairly.I'm not
really sure how the taxes have to be done for new businesses for
them.I think it's a little different for the first few years. But I'm sure
it has not changed for my husband. One man that works with my
husband is from Puerto Rico(he has lived here many years),asked
where his W2's were and one employer told him Puertoricans don't have to pay taxes. That is so wrong. My husband said he was
upset this man thought it was ok to say something like that.WHAT
TO DO??
