Our taxes were accepted electronically the morning of February 2nd. The IRS site said that we'd receive it by the 20th. Possibility of it being deposited sooner?

I use direct deposit every year and always get it back faster than they say. The IRS would rather set your expectations for a longer wait than to tell you you'll have it in 5 days and have to deal with phone calls when it doesn't arrive in that time.

I did mine on 2-1-07 with Turbo Tax. It was accepted on 2-2-07. My state was deposited today 2-6-07 and my federal is supposed to be deposited 2-9-07.

I get mine direct deposited every year and it usually takes a week or week and a half. It's pretty quick. It's easier on the IRS, but I just check my account every day until I see that it hit.

Very unlikely the Fed will deposit ahead of schedule. The state might if you are expecting a refund from them.

here is the PDF of expected direct deposit dates for federal tax refund...find when yours was accepted and it should tell you which date it will be deposited

Looks like, since your was accepted on the 2nd, your direct deposit will be on the 16th

Since things are done electronically now they are a lot faster than expected most of the time. I would start checking my acct. in about a week...that's been my experience anyway.

Not sure what part of the IRS site you went to, but you should be able to check on your specific refund here:

Possibly. I got mine in 4 days last year, even before I had a chance to check it.

Anything is possible, but I think they are on a cycle of sending out refunds. You can check www.irs.gov, individual, Where's My Refund....

good luck & blessing
