My wife plans to retire at 62. I checked with my tax man about how much money she is allowed to make. He said on the joint return. We are allowed to make $32,000. My question is if I make about $24,000. She makes about $10,000. on social security. How much is she allowed to make working before she has to pay the govt. taxes on her social security?

If one is hired by a small business ower, and they sometimes pay $ and/or check. The employer stated paperwork would be completed for a W-4 (employee has been employed for 7 months), but they were never issued/completed. Also, some employees are on the payroll system and some are not. When the non-stubbed business payroll checks are issued, the memo section indicates; hours worked. Is something wrong here?

I moved to Canada recently, but my bank's address is still in Texas, and I'm getting a UPS mailbox in Upper New York in order to be able to receive merchandise they won't deliver to Canada.

I'm wondering if I should keep my Texas address or give the bank the UPS store address, as the sales tax in NY is considerably higher than that in Texas.

I'm confused and I would appreciate an answer.

I prepared tax returns for 2002 through 2004 but I am not sure whether or not they were in fact filed. I would like to verify with the IRS but I do not know how to get that information from them electronically. Please help.
