When is the tax free weekend/week/day?

These are the states that have a tax free weekend:
• Alabama • New Mexico • Connecticut • North Carolina
• Florida • South Carolina • Georgia • Tennessee
• Iowa • Texas • Maryland • Virginia • Missouri
• Washington, D.C.
As you can see, California is NOT on the list.

I just made a $600 purchase at Patio World in San Rafael CA (North Bay) and they told me that they were offering a not tax weekend. They didn t charge me any taxes! It might be select stores that choose to participate with most of the country. It d be good to call stores ahead of time to check, seems like an excellent way to save when making large purchases.
Today day is Saturday, 4/18/12015.

This sounds like a marketing promo for a particular business.

There is no free tax weekend in California officially. CA wants its money, it is not going to give it up.

We will never be so lucky....Orchard Supply Does a tax free weekend every once and a while...but as for statewide...never

I live in California and have never heard of such a thing.
