When my wife and I beame engaged in March 2007, I gave her a valuable ring. We had our wedding in early May 2007 and I gave her some money so that she could have her own bank account. I was wondering if I had to pay gift tax for any of the above?

I sometimes buy goods from online retail stores to resell them. I was wondering, when they sells, if it's possible to not pay the sales tax for those particular items since I paid for them already? Or is it possible to ask the retail store to waive the sales tax by sending in my seller's permit? (although I'm most definite they won't) Or lastly, can I ship them to a friend of mine in a different (pretty rural) state where many online merchants don't charge taxes for?

Can I claim both, the FSA and the Child Care credit?
If the max on the FSA is $5,000 and the mak (with one child) is $3,000, but my child care expenses are well over $9,000; will I be able to get both tax credits? Or choose betweeon one or the other? It should be noted that out house hold combined income will only allow for the 20% deduction on the Child Care credit.

Goods are coming in from USA to UK. I want to be able to sell these in the UK but currently the IMPORT DUTY that gets charged would erode all of the profit margin. How can I not pay IMPORT DUTY, assuming all of the goods coming from the USA will be sold in the UK?

I just moved to NC from FL and they charge property tax on my leased vehicle. I just got a bill for over $300 which if I was buying the car would have been around $700. This is insane and they bill you every year. I feel like I have to pay dues to be in a club or something, lol.

So I wanted to see if there are any counties in this state that don't charge that and may also have lower property taxes for when I buy a home. Thanks.

I have been a bad dog and completely neglected to file my taxes for about four years. Even more ignorant, I would recieve a refund every year.

I needed the money so I went to HR BLock and filed for the current year. I didn't have any kind of hold placed or even mentioned. And recieved my refund without incidence.

Now, I would like to file the returns I neglected to file for previous years and e-file to recieve my refunds ASAP
By Friday, which I know is probably not possible.
It is extremely important I try, my daughter just joined the Marines and ships out the day after her graduation from high school.
What would be the easiest way to complete them online if possible and are there any resctrictions, penalties or potential problems I should look for?

Extremely simple

I am moving and changing my address; however, I didn't think in advance and I put my old mailing address on my tax returns. I still have not received a check from my state. I heard USPS does not forward federal tax return checks, but do they forward state? If not, what should I do?

My wife and I was divorced in November 2005. We never settled who would claim my son for that year, and I went to file an amended return for 2005 and I found out that my ex-wifes mother had claimed my ex-wife AND MY SON.

I was asked to submit documents showing the child is mine, ect, ect. I am fixing to mail it off.

I was just wondering. Is her grandmother really allowed to do that? Can you claim somebody who is a dependent of somebody else?

Should I be worried the IRS will not correct it and let a grandmother claim my child over me?

My ex-husband and his wife went to the child support recovery a couple of weeks ago. He didn't get a tax refund because of back child support he owed to me. Anyways, when they were there, they wanted to waive the 6 month hold that is put on "joint tax offsets". He and his wife decided that they would not file an injured spouse form to amend their taxes, they just wanted to hurry up and get rid of the child support debt. He said they signed a form and that the lady at child support recovery told them I would get the money sooner. I am just wondering how much sooner. How long does it take to process this? At first I doubted what he said, because I could not find ANYTHING about it online searches...but after I called the child support recovery, I found out it can happen. But they also would not give me anymore info about it since it had to do with his taxes. I would like to know if it could be 4 to 6 weeks to get the money or longer?

There's a question for how much my father earned and how much my mother earned but they filed their taxes jointly, what do I do now? Do I split the earnings and put half in one and half in the other? Do I put in 0 for my dad and all the income for my mom (she's the one that works)? Or do I just put in the total amount for each?
