I just moved to NC from FL and they charge property tax on my leased vehicle. I just got a bill for over $300 which if I was buying the car would have been around $700. This is insane and they bill you every year. I feel like I have to pay dues to be in a club or something, lol.

So I wanted to see if there are any counties in this state that don't charge that and may also have lower property taxes for when I buy a home. Thanks.

FL has no income tax so they have to make up for it someplace. Property taxes are how they do it for the most part. They have some of the highest in the nation.

Although personal property taxes are paid to the county and the county generally sets the rate, as far as I know all counties levy it in states where there is a personal property tax.

The personal property tax on vehicles is normally a state thing, not usually county. Not all states have it.

Counties and school district property taxes can vary though, so you should check surrounding counties when buying a house.

Did you know that Those Americans EARNING $250,000/year or MORE would have to PAY 123% of their ANNUAL Income to Balance Mr. Obama's FY 2013 Proposed Budget? Now that would make the Left Finally Feel like the "Rich" are Paying Their Fair Share, wouldn't it?

Now you know why people vote Republican :)

-Find a county that votes that way, and you'll find the one you can afford.
