My husband and I filed a joint return, it has been taken because he owes past due childsupport. He was injured several years ago and has not worked since 2002. We live in a community property state (TX) will I get any of my refund? The majority of it was Earned Income Credit for my children.

I will file federal tax return as married jointly. My wife paid around $10000 for her college tuition and I paid around $5000 for my tuition. Since the tuition deduction is only up to $4000. Can we also claim education credits (Hope or Lifetime, our income qualifies)? Or, we can only use one deduction? Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks.

i just got 1098-T from school, box 2. $3,046(amounts billed for qualified tuition and related expenses), and box 5. $4,520(scholarships or grants) but the other boxes are empty.
I think none of amount can not claim for deduction because i used scholarship/grants for expenses, expenses less than scholarship/grants.. and I don't have any expenses record which paid by myself at this time. please give me advise. thank you.
