1099 MISC suggests that you had self-employment income. You might find it beneficial to consult a tax professional to ensure you receive the maximum tax benefit from your business expenses and to ensure that you complete a full and accurate return.

TURBO TAX!

NEVER go to H&R Block!!!! They are very expensive and incompetent. I had to take their class to be in compliance with CA tax preparer laws. We knew more than the teacher. We had to keep correcting the teacher. Several important and BASIC areas were marked in the taxbook as "beyond the scope of this course." Since they were running short on potential hires, they changed the rules adn hired people that FLUNKED the final. I have hears numerous horror stories from FOMER clients of Block.

Unless you are very financially adept, I would recommend you go to a professional tax preparer. There are many deductions you can take for your 1099 income and an experienced preparer will know right off the top of his head what those deductions are. There are many experienced tax preparers out there who won't charge you a fortune. Ask your friends, family members and other independent contractors for recommendations, and ask them what they paid to get their taxes done. Best of luck!
