The policies of the Bush Administrtation have been to reduce (eventually eliminate) the tax burden for UNEARNED income (dividends, capital gains, inheritances). So people who sit on their a55es and colleck dividend checks pay less. Or nothing! This merely transfers the burden of taxation to those who actually work for a living.

Is this right? If anything should be exempt from taxes, shouldn't it be what you WORK for?

I live on an Investment Portfolio. My taxes have been reduced. And when my parents die, I will become a millionaire. Republicans would let me have it all tax-free, while Blue Collar Joe pays to keep America going. Whenhe has a family to support and can barely make ends meet.

This is not fair. Tax people like me! ALL of us!

Why do right-wing Elitists favor a tax system that wages class warfare on working people to benefit the idle rich?

My friend call his last employer and employer said too bad and accused my friend of stealing. My friend said he never stole money or anything else. My friend called the police and they said there were no warrants for his arrest. Can anyone help? He married someone and she is now in prison. He is not yet divorced but has not been with her for a couple of years. How does this fit in with everything. My friend would like to do the right thing and finally get his life in order.

Even though everyone is capable of recycling, there are still a lot of people out there who are happy not doing it aqx they beli9eve not their problem, so my question is while there are those who do, and help to bring down cost of services in the borough they live in, should it be a case that those who don't shouldn't be able to derive the benefit of lower community service costs, but instead should pay a charge every month for non recyclying, and hopefully by this way start to do some as it not cost anything to do

My husband and I have a disagreement. He claims "0" on his w-2, I claim "1". What is better? We both work. We both make generally the same amount. We have no children. And we both put into retirement (although not the maximum). He said that we get more back at tax refund time than I because he claims "0". (Which I believe). I just dont believe that having the maximum taken out on each paycheck is worth the refund in the end. He's the mathmatical guru of us both, and I just am so confused. Someone please explain the benefits of claiming "0" so I can let him do it his way!!!!

I deliver a newpaper route. I travel 7 miles to a pickup point where I start the route. I travel about the same distance home after I deliver the last paper. Can I deduct the total miles from when I leave home until I return, or only the miles from the pickup point to the last delivery?

I apologize for the blunt stupidity this question may provoke, but I had 4 jobs in 2006, total income just over $16,000. My Federal return is probably going to suck, is it illegal to omit a W-2???

I checked and it isn't there yet, and I wasn't sure if it would be in at midnight, or maybe later in the day. I'm concerned because the franchise tax board is supposed to take some out and if there's no deposit made my account will be overdrawn. Thanks for any info.

I was married in April 06 so its my understanding that my wife and I would benefit most from filing our income taxes jointly. We both work full time jobs, but in addition to my full time job, I am also an independent contractor selling a little real estate here & there. (Only 2 sales in 2006 for a total of about $2800 in commission.) But being an independent contractor, I am allowed to write some things off that pertain to my business such as fees paid, marketing, cell phone, etc...

What do I claim my real estate income as & if it's not my primary job, am I still eligible for the write-offs?

Also, where can I find a list of general things that can be written off or deducted such as medical costs and whatnot? We want to make sure we get as much as we can back, but I'm concerned I could miss some things.

Any help is greatly appreciated, but anyone that actually walks me through it step by step will get best answer. I've never filed myself before so I'm a bit weary. Thanks!

I know this question has probably been asked before but here it goes.: .. My husband has yet to recieve his w2. When he first contatcted his former employer they claimed to have sent it but to the wrong address.they then stated they would send it again. well that was a couple weeks ago and as of now he has been given the runaround. When he tried conatcting them earlier this week the company routed him to an answering machine where he is prompted to leave a message with all his info. No matter what he does they will not give him any info and just send him the same answerng service. We have been patient but are but are now frusturated with their lack of interest. What can we do?

I haven't received my W-2 from my past employer last year whom I've worked for from end of Dec. 2005 to July 2006. They haven't even sent me my W-2 for Dec. 2005(I didn't know my employer had to send a W-2 for Dec month since I didn't earn much) and still waiting for last year. I've already called the IRS the other day and given them the required information.

I have my last pay stub(which has the accumulated income), but I'm missing the one for 2005. How would I do my taxes if I don't have the paycheck stub for 2005?

Thanks.
