I haven't received my W-2 from my past employer last year whom I've worked for from end of Dec. 2005 to July 2006. They haven't even sent me my W-2 for Dec. 2005(I didn't know my employer had to send a W-2 for Dec month since I didn't earn much) and still waiting for last year. I've already called the IRS the other day and given them the required information.

I have my last pay stub(which has the accumulated income), but I'm missing the one for 2005. How would I do my taxes if I don't have the paycheck stub for 2005?

Thanks.

If you have last years W-2 file it on this years return...it's that simple.

Did you actually receive pay in 2005 from this employer? If you started working at the end of December 2005, and you were paid for that work in 2006, then the income goes on your 2006 return.

You have your final pay stub for 2006. You can use that to file your 2006 taxes. Your final paycheck stub for 2005 does not effect your 2006 return.

You cannot do a tax return by attaching the paystub to a return.

Your former employer is required under law to provide you with a W-2 for both 2005 and 2006. Call him and request a duplicate to be mailed or faxed to you.

If he does not comply with your request, then go to irs.gov and retrieve Form 4506T
to get a transcript for 2005 and 2006.

Report the withholding per the transcript on Form 1040. Enclose a letter to the IRS indicating that no W-2 was received and in lieu of the W-2, please accept this transcript
instead.

Best Wishes.

pretty difficult without your pay stubs. Which btw you should always save and compare to your w2 forms. By law your employer is responsible to provide you with w2 statement. So keep on him...Lets
