I know this question has probably been asked before but here it goes.: .. My husband has yet to recieve his w2. When he first contatcted his former employer they claimed to have sent it but to the wrong address.they then stated they would send it again. well that was a couple weeks ago and as of now he has been given the runaround. When he tried conatcting them earlier this week the company routed him to an answering machine where he is prompted to leave a message with all his info. No matter what he does they will not give him any info and just send him the same answerng service. We have been patient but are but are now frusturated with their lack of interest. What can we do?

If you cannot obtain a copy from your employer you should contact the IRS. The IRS will have both federal and state W-2 information

If you don't receive your Form W-2 by February 15, contact the IRS for assistance at (800) 829-1040. Also, you may want to refer to Tax Topic 154, Form W-2 - What To Do if Not Received, to see the specific information the IRS will need in order to prepare a Form 4598, Form W-2, 1098 or 1099 Nor Received, Incorrect, or Lost. You will be sent a copy of Form 4598 along with a Form 4852, Substitute for Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, or Form 1099R, Distributions

I have the same problem. Still waiting for my W-2, however, I recently called the IRS and I'm counting on them to help me settle the problem. Everything seems to fall to the IRS when problems like these arise. So you're next step is to call the IRS.

Be sure you have these info on hand when contacting them: employer company name, address, phone #, dates employed/your husband's ssn, address, date of birth. And explain what attempts you've made to contact the employer about the W2.

Best of luck to you and your husband.

If that is for tax year 2006, the W2 hasn't been produced by your corporation business enterprise yet; that couldn't ensue until eventually January. they're required to mail them out by a million/31/07. you should attend until eventually it really is obtainable interior the mail.
