I have Just opened a Valeting bussiness and I have set my prices to wich i think is the going rate, however I have had people try and knock me down on my prices, saying to me that they can the same service elsewere cheaper, but I take pride in my work and i cant cut corners to do quick job, that is what my bussiness is about, I want to be the best at what i do ,and want to make money doing it.do I give in, for the sake of getting customers or do i stick to my guns. My prices are already discounted. any advice welcome

Sometimes there is always that one person that calls me that I can sense will be more trouble than worth my time and effort. And usually they are the CHEAPSKATES too. Those type of customers I usually make up some lie to steer them away from my company. I have a business where I have the luxery of picking and choosing. I don't have to worry about every order making or breaking me....Just wondering if other small business owners do the same with less than pleasant people?

i just would like to know any proceses i need to follow, how to do a business plan, market research, who to approach about different aspects of starting a new business, tax, etc etc etc. i have the idea, im just unsure about going forward.

I sell a bit on ebay, but try to be very cautious about "hackers". I had an item up for auction, highest bidder won, I used to wait to send invoice for 24 hours to see if they are bidding on other items. I got lost in one transaction, went to the ebay site, not paypal, and clicked on make shipping label, and made it, and then thought ??? I don't remember receiving payment for this ?? ANd I hadn't. So, beware of using make shipping label from ebay. Make sure you have received payment or maybe all of you are more alert than I am. I am hoping some of you will give me feedback on "loopholes" to watch for when I'm selling. I have reverted to immediate payment, but in order to do this, I have to make a buy it now, and I don't like that. Any advice, suggestions, telling me I'm dumb :) just don't use foul language, OK :)

I design and make gift baskets. I am in the process of converting this side job into a professional business. I am looking for a catchy name for the new business. Something that says style, class, and uniqueness (like me) but also gives a curiousity, yet tells what it is I do. Not really looking for something so obvious like "Custom Baskets by Me" or "Baskets R Us" but something that's unique so it sticks. I make baskets for all occassions and have a small customer base but hoping to expand with the growth of the business production. All suggestions welcomed. The best of course gets 10 points! I really want to start my own business but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. I want my business to basically be a small restaurant/coffee house. My mother made me a photo album full of homemade stews and crockpot recipes. I'm hoping that a "real food" diner will be more accepted since in a city REAL food is hard to find (especially where I am). I am really looking for advice that if the idea is first of all a good one and secondly where I can be directed to start this business. It will be from the ground up.

My dream is to have a place that you are more then welcome to come have something good to eat or just be able to sit and have a cup of coffee and read. Guess the only reason I want to start a new business is b/c I think that first of all it can succeed and I have trouble working for others so what better excuse to become my own boss.

Has anyone else just started new? I'm 24 - scared out of my mind - and excited! Thanks first of all.

I am going to import electronics and sell them on the internet.

I am doing a project- a marketing ploy. I am trying to create a comercial for class. We decided to do it on natural beauty products. We want our theme to be targeting many types of girls saying our product can be good 4 everyone. So far we have come up with country, tom boy, preppy, girly girl, emo, and goth. and rebel....... we now need to come up with a Business title and product name..... if you can think of a slogan that would help too!!!!!
