I bought a shop sample wedding dress and signed a contract which said all sales are final and once gown is ordered i cannot cancel. The gown was never ordered because it was already in the shop. I paid £500 for the dress and £350 for alterations. Can i get my money back on the alterations (it hasn't been altered yet) or exchange the sample dress for another dress in store?

I am thinking about starting up a home based business as shown on most job sites. I am curious to know if any of you have done this before and how successful you were at it. How many hours did/do you work and how is the pay in relation to that? Please email me directly and let me know. Thank you.

If I put a flyer in your mailbox saying "contact me for a catalogue and free smples" how would you react? If you already had an avon rep, would you switch? Would you ask for the book just to get the samples? Should I list which samples I would be giving? thanks

They act like you are lucky to have an account there and many are just plain unhelpful and rude.

Especially at big banks! They treat you like you better not make them angry or demand to much and that it is a priveledge they even let you have an account there!
I have to bank at small banks, because I hate the big banks with a passion! (but even they are bad!)

Do you use vending machines?
For tea/coffee/soft drinks or other items such as Tomy figurines and childrens toys?
Do you think they're a waste of money or do you often use them? Even for gum etc?
If you have change in your pocket why not huh?
This is particularly for Mums with small children.

We signed up with the BT Business broadband service a few months ago, and agreed that the business email capacity would be capped at 100MB. Fair enough we thought.

A few months down the line they arbitarily reduced that capacity to 70MB. In all fairness, you'd expect that if they change the terms of their service, we the consumer would have some rights to either reject their service for being insufficient to our needs, negotiate some reduction in fees for a lesser service.

But since they do have some get out clause in their small print which in effect says that they can do and change whatever and we the consumer would still have to foot the monthly bill, we're a bit unsure about this.

What do you think? Should this unfair business practice be open to legal challenges, even with that small print being in place? Sure there should be a limit to what businesses can "get out clause" themselves out of?

television shows that introduce how something is made (like.. "how hershey's kisses are made") always take you to a plant and there are so many intricate machines that bottle, wrap, shake, measure, cut, separate.. etc. are they all custom manufacturing machines? from where do companies get them? and how can a small business owner find/ afford one?

i'm not necessarily asking about machines used in the food industry -- any answers are welcomed! i can provide further details if necessary. i know my question may be a little vague.

I am currently leasing a suite in an office building. I have opened a nail salon and am having a hard time keeping up with the rent. I want to get some sort of financial help to purchase equipment that would allow me to rent booths to other operators, which would help me generate revenue. I need money to purchase manicuring tables and chairs. If I could just get a little help, I could really get this thing up and running, I have been told that I am very good, and being self-employed is wonderful. I am a licensed manicurist and I have big dreams of having my own franchise of nail salons. I just don't know how I can do that when I don't have the money already. I'm just trying to better myself and provide stable work environments for others. You can check out some of my work at http://www.myspace.com/nailit2em
