Simple questions.

1) Is the franchise fee a one time fee, or yearly?

2) Royalty fees are paid by transaction, monthly, or yearly?

Thanks

My employer has decided that for 2007 that teamwork will no longer be allowed. We can't ask other employees for help on our projects, as that is teamwork. This is very strictly enforced. I don't even know how projects in the past would have gotten done if it weren't for effective teamwork.

I've never encountered anything like this in the business world. Usually, an employer will want to PROMOTE teamwork. This is a decision that has come from the business owner, and he is insistent that we work this way, even though employees have expressed great dissatisfaction. Some of us have huge workloads, and others have nothing to do.

Is this completely bizarre? What could the rationale possibly be for this? Other than finding another job (that's a given), what could an employee do in this situation?

I'm told the Grant Writers Code of Ethics will not let them write grants on a commission basis. Are Grant Writers not there to benefit the non profits as well as them self? Most grants will not allow you to include the cost of a Grant Writer. Are Grants not there to benefit non profits?
The world is full of successful people who work on commission. I know I'm one of them I am in Real Estate, Mortgages and Financial Services. I question the Grant Writers success rate when they require money up front. I'm sure there are many successful grant writers out there so if any one knows the answer to this catch 22 for nonprofits who need grant to pay for a Grant Writer PLEASE HELP!!!!

A tattoo/piercing parlor that includes a gift shop that sells handmade jewelry made from natural rocks, bone, and shells, and a great new clothing line that features artwork by incarcerated artists? I design and make all the jewelry myself. I have been around the retail gift and clothing business my whole life. My grandfather started a western clothing manufacturing business in 1935. Then sometime in the 1950's his daughter and her husband, my grandparents, opened a retail store selling the clothing they manufactured and other miscellaneous gifts. The manufacturing business was in operation for 70 years until my grandfather decided to retire and the family sold everything. I also have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. So, I know business. Do you think my idea would fly or flop? Please give me some feedback and any ideas you might have. Thanks, ahead of time, to all who answer.
