Small Business - August 2006

I'm based 20 minutes North of L.A. in the San Fernando Valley competititon is fierce, Yellow page ads are not working and expesive, I feel that I threw away $12,000.00 for phone book ads that don't get any response or only lookie loos have been calling, how can I reach thousands of serious customers without spending all my savings? My company is well established and licensed over 17 years! But I need new work.

Can someone provide me with some sort of equation or direction on how to come up with a business' EBITDA? I know the acronym's meaning, but are we looking at simply gross revenues or do I need to subtract certain items from gross revenues? Thanks for any help provided.

I have built a website selling fake nikes. to test if people will trust it, I posted a question and got some answers: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060827072652AAsYSTG
From these answers, I find quite a few people still feel unsafe about shopping online, especially from a website they never know.

To solve this problem, I decide to get a partner in America and all the payments will be directly made to my partner in America. Will this work? I mean will people trust people in the same country? or will people trust people that they can send checks to? or will this be better than just asking Americans to send money to a chinese guy that they never know?

I am serious about this and I'll appreciate any of your answers.

I make and sell My Size Barbie clothes. I've listed and sold on Ebay for almost 4 years now. I've also listed on I Offer, Bidsville, Overstock and Yahoo auctions and none of them have the traffic to sustain sale and run a profitable business after all the fees ( which cost more than ebay in the long run)?

i see that sales opportunities on the job market are about sales experiments rather then sales job. companies want you to come and loose a year to see if u can sell some experimental products, that noone before u managed to sell (new product or poor product). they must believe it is up to magical sales skills or what?
