About 50% offer no health benefits at all, and the other 50% offer basic HMO type benefits, dental and health, insurance usually pays 80% they pay 20%...that sort of deal.

Sometimes they will add life insurance, dismemberment and vision, even massage - it is really up to the employer how far they want to go with that.

Also, it is customary to give your employee an employee discount if you are a retail store or something like that...
Sometimes an extra benefit will be like "an hour lunch break" or paid vacation time, sick leave, etc.
I even know a place that offers weekly sushi lunches for their employees.

If you wanted to cut back on some "traditional" benefits, you can get creative with other benefits to boost morale, like a Christmas gift of cash or a box of chocolate truffles or a party/ski trip or something fun - just to show you care.

Less than they used to in most businesses. And our present government is pretty much letting the big corporate leeches get away with it, too.

It depends on the company. The smaller the company, the fewer the bennies.
