I have built a website selling fake nikes. to test if people will trust it, I posted a question and got some answers: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060827072652AAsYSTG
From these answers, I find quite a few people still feel unsafe about shopping online, especially from a website they never know.

To solve this problem, I decide to get a partner in America and all the payments will be directly made to my partner in America. Will this work? I mean will people trust people in the same country? or will people trust people that they can send checks to? or will this be better than just asking Americans to send money to a chinese guy that they never know?

I am serious about this and I'll appreciate any of your answers.

You're crazy. The website looks good but you need a payment link/page. There are numerous online payment methods. It does not matter what country you live in or the site is from. You can go to charge.com and become a merchant to accept credit cards. Or use paypal, neteller, fire pay, storm pay, moneybookers, etc. This will solve your problem if you believe people will not trust you.

Also, online payments are instant so the buyer expects the goods faster. Online payments are beneficial to the merchant and buyer.

I went to the site to try to but a pair of shoes; it is not consumer friendly. You need to have an e-commerce store, not a showcase of your web design skills. Why should I have to contact you to buy a product?? I shouldn't! Once I make my selection I should be directed immediately to a check out/payment info page with the total (cost of item + shipping). Concentrate on a more professional presence and you will be on your way to selling this fake product. Best of Luck,

If you're comfortable selling 'fake nikes" why should anyone trust you?

It takes a while to build a reputation and gain customer trust and loyalty, and building your empire on a foundation of counterfeit goods does not seem like a good start to me.

I hate to think that this is for real...such a blatant violation of copyright laws.

Short answer is : I wouldn't buy from you under any circumstances.

Longer answer : I can't image how selling shoes, from China, to individual consumers makes ANY sense at all. Your transaction costs (including shipping) will kill you. What you need is US distribution. Someone to buy by the container load, and then pass the shoes out to all the crank-heads who sell them out of their rusted out vans in gas station parking lots.
