i have a debt that i have to pay in full in 5 months. is it still better to pay down my higher interest debts first, then deal with the other one last, or should i concentrate on the time sensitive debt first?

I added my best friend onto my checking account in Hawaii, so she could have access to information while i was on exchange in Korea. This was in case I had any problems with deposits while I was away for such a long time.

Long story short...She took out all the money ($777) and closed the checking account, with pending transactions still processing. Now she refuses to give the money back. She has no history of deposits or withdraws on the account and I established the account.

She claimed she made a cashiers check out of the $777 ,made out to me ,and then sent it in the mail (phone conversation). Now she states that the money is her's and that she gave me the money when I added her name on the account (false of course).

Is there any recourse? Will a small claims court be effective? What are some good documents to have for evidence?

Thank you all!

Recently got married and realised I don't want to live fast, die young after all. I'd like to live for quite a long time. So I need to plan for the future.
I have the option to join my company pension scheme. The company matches my contributions up to 5% of salary.
The catch is this....
if I leave the company within 5 years I lose the company contributions (but I can get a refund or leave my own contributions in the pension fund).
Now, it's quite likely I won't be staying for 5 years. What are good investment alternatives?

I had an account that was closed three years ago due to default - I had lost my job and the majority of the overdraft was made up of bank charges. Am I entitled to reclaim bank charges if the account is closed?

I have an online savings account and have $1000 in a local savings account at Wells Fargo that could earn better interest with HSBC. I now have a credit card through Wells Fargo, and I am a little worried that I might have to use the money I have in savings, in case I make a mistake, in order to pay the credit card bill. Well, I want to close the Wells Fargo savings that only pays .2% interest rate and open an HSBC checking in case of emergencies. I guess that dosen't really have anything to do with my question, lol. Here's another question, who would go with their Basic checking package when you pay a service fee when you can get their Free Checking which is more souped up and pay nothing?
