Would'nt it be a real cost savings if we would limit campaiging to 6 months? So wh isnt it done ??

Nevermind the technicality of defining campaigning versus lobbying and normal politics, there's the matter of how all politicians don't want to be restricted in the careers....

....which is completely understandable and relatable.

If you were trying to get a promotion in your job, would you like it if someone in another field said you couldn't interact, congregate, fraternize, or hang out with your peers or superiors weeks or months before the promotion was offered?

And then there's the money issue and the complexity of politics and the matter of natural selection which can't be admitted due to political correctness, but that's a whole other story.
