I am applying for a mortgage and I am wondering what details banks see when thy do a credit check. Do they see who you own money and how much? Or do they just see like a numbered rating?

I have mutual funds (IRA and Roth IRA) with Vanguard but thinking of rolling the 100,000 to Fidelity. Anyone know the long-term track record? The Freedom Funds with Fidelity interest me. I am 10 years away from retirement. ..need to make some cash but am conservative. No interest in managing anything on my own, as I am no pro at investing.

I need a loan for $1250.00 for a security deposit on a new apartment. I don't have great credit right now but I am able to pay the loan back in September and can use my 2005 car as collateral. Any suggestions as to where I can look and won't get a horrible interest rate?

Thanks for your help!

I deposited a cashiers check at 1:00pm. at the bank branch ATM machine where I have an account. It took longer than 24 hours for them to even post the cashiers check to my savings account and then stated it wont be cleared for my use until an additional 18 hours from the 24 hours passes. Given this is a cashier's check, how could they legally hold up that money for almost two days? My account is in good standing.

Okay....let me rephrase my question.
1. My husband has not left for basic training yet.
I just want to know if anybody can provide any resources for emergency rent aid in PA. That's all. I'm not begging for money anymore. I'm not asking you to send me money anymore. I just would like to know of resources so I can get rental assistance in PA. Thank you.
PS. Being sarcastic is fine. But if you suggest I sell you my baby, I will report you.

My husband and I are in dire straits right now. We need to come up with 700 dollars to cover rent for August....he leaves for basic training in September but the Army will not help us. His job ended last month, and my temp assignment ended in June, and we have been scraping by ever since. I am trying to find another job/temp assignment, but that doesn't pay my rent now...
We have exhausted every resource available and now are having to ask for the money. Our friends and families are in no position to help. Does anyone know of anything, or anyone, who can help us? We live in Montgomery county, PA. Would any one of you help us? We would be willing to take down your info and repay you as soon as we get the money. I normally wouldn't care, but we have a 15 month old baby, and if we go homeless, she will be taken away. I can't live without my daughter. Please....somebody help me....

Pops ran up a credit card. The card was for his business and he signed as guarantor. Attorneys are collecting. Pops is in hospice care and not long for this world. Can these collectors come after Mom? (They are married)

Also, Pops is now off the deed to the house and Mom is in joint tenancy with another person. If they can come after her, can they lien the house?

We have lived in our house for 3.5 years and plan to purchase a new home in 1.5-2 years. Our mortgage is 6.25 30 year fixed. We took on a 2nd mortgage about a year ago to pay off debt. Now we want to refinance and roll the two together with our existing car loans and credit card, so we can fix any credit problems, make payments easily, etc. so it will be easier to buy the next house. The new rate being offerred is 6.95%. Our mortgage payments will be $400 more, but we will be saving an additional $400 in monthly payments. We figure our credit will improve greatly. We were worried about paying down a credit card "over 30 years", but the refinancing co. reasoned that we will only have this "bigger" mortgage payment and interest rate for the next couple of years; it's the mortgage for the new house we need to be concerned about. (And by doing this, we will improve our credit and chances for a better mortgage next time.)

Hope that's enough info. for detailed info on pitfalls of refi.
