My 4 year old is modeling and making some nice money... but we are having some serious financial problems and I want to be sure that if we must declare bankruptcy, "her" money will not go away.. we do not use it for any household expenses. Can a 4 year old form a corporation? Is there some type of custodial account that would be protected. It is hers, and I need it to remain hers. Perhaps for her first car some day, or college... her wedding.. it breaks my heart to think that our mistakes could cost her this money that she is making all on her own!!

I am receiving a fixed amount each month. I was a stay at home mom of four so I don't have my own but I would like to leave something for my kids. My understanding is that once I pass away, the payments will stop.

Isn't it all really the same? I only have a checking account. Do people normally put their money in savings accounts? I'm kind of confused. I guess it's because from my last question, people had around $200 in their checking account. It doesn't seem like a lot. So where do most people put their money? In savings or in checking accounts? Or in cash? Do most people put their money in a savings account? I thought people would have much more money than $200. What % of money does a checking account consist of compared to one's financial posession overall?

No need to freak out, okay? I'm slow and fat. I don't have computer experience and it's not like I'm going to hack into your account. Geeshh

2 questions:
1 - In an effort to better plan for my family's future, is it acceptable to ask my parents now, before they die, how much I can expect?
2- I think it's a lot. Would it be acceptable to ask for an "advance" in my inheritance?

I live well within my means, and from a lot of the questions I see posted here such as payday loans, huge credit card debt, begging, and so forth, it is obvious many people don't.

To help save money, I:

Bring iced tea mix to work rather than spend $1.50 on Snapple

I stock up on frozen entrees when they are 50% off and keep them in the freezer at work for a cheap lunch

I get all the free samples I can from startsampling.com, walmart.com and from offers I see on tv. I probably get enough free deodorant to last a month or two every year. It adds up.

I walk rather than take the bus or subway whenever possible and practical

I air dry my clothes halfway, and then put them in the dryer to save on electricity

I buy all my shampoo and soap at the dollar store

I hit the thrift stores every week or two. You really have to comb through the racks, but I once got a $580 Ralph Lauren shawl with the store tags still on for $25

I save at least 10% of my pay every week

Does anyone know the max personal loan amounts you can file in a BK?

2006-08-16 05:17:55 · 4 answers · asked by Carey L 3

and you are then forced to file BK, what are you suppose to claim as income - is it an average, or actual at the time of filing?

Please give me an estimate. I searched previous questions andanswers and they were mostly "who cares?" I'm not going to rob you or anything. Answer only if you're over the age of 18, please. I'm a poor college student, and I want to compare myself to adults in the real-world, and especially college students. How much do you spend per month on food (for yourself only please)? I want to live cheap. If my checking account is lower than the average college student, I will live off of samples at the grocery store.

Thanks!!

I am currently a Math Major at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and I was recently researching what it is exactly I would like to do when I graduate and I came accross the position of finanacial analyst.
What things should I start doing my last few quarters at Cal Poly in order to make a move into that profession? Are there some classes I can take that would give me a jump up? I know I want my career to be in finance so do you have any sggestions? Are there any licenses that you think would be useful on my resume such as the series 65 (investment analysis)? How does a recent graduate start to move towards this career? Who would hire me? Where should I look? I am currently doing an internship with the accounting department of a corporation, but what else can I do to help employers want me?
