Your unemployment benefits are directly related to the amount of money you have earned over a specific time period. The benefits are based on a percentage of that income. The fact that you work, has no bearing on your husbands unemployment check.

"but obviously this time of night all i got was the morons"

Uh ... no.

What you got were all the Americans who were awake while the Brits were tucked into bed or watching the newscast.

Most people in the USA know dole as a brand of fruit, not unemployment. And here, redundant means unnecessary repetition, not laid off. The common usage of both these words is very different in each country.

In closing, most people who read your post were probably wondering why you are married to a pineapple who likes to repeat himself.

I looked up the word dole, and could'nt find the meaning. The amount is usually based on the persons income. I don't know what area you're referring to, I'm in the US. , but the last time I drew unemployment was about thirty years ago and that's how they calculated it here. Contact the employment office and they will tell you.....Good Luck...
