2 questions:
1 - In an effort to better plan for my family's future, is it acceptable to ask my parents now, before they die, how much I can expect?
2- I think it's a lot. Would it be acceptable to ask for an "advance" in my inheritance?

I would just plan on living on your own income since you will not know when your parents may die. Who knows, they may out live you. I would find it very tacky to ask my parents for an "advance" on my inheritance. Please learn to live within what ever means you are capable of. I am finding out that I like different things than my parents so I am living a different lifestyle.

I think it would be in really poor taste to ask your living parents to front you some of your inheritance.

I know you want to plan for your family's future and all but your parents are apart of your family.

on the federal point it incredibly is an assets tax. assets tax relies upon on the 300 and sixty 5 days they die and the quantity they left--no longer in basic terms the quantity they left you. For small estates, there is not any longer a tax. on the state point, some states nevertheless have assets and inheritance taxes. yet you probably did no longer let us know which state your mothers and fathers stay in.
