Do you mean pocket money? I used to get a pound a week but that was 23 years ago. I also did a paper round and got a pound for 2 hours' work on a Friday evening for delivering 200 copies of the the local free sad rag to the community. At that time I had about £400 in the building society.

Only as much as they earn with their allowance or their paper route. Generaly around $100 to $150 a month! It's a good time to learn to invest some of what you earn. Learn to save for things you want - like that car you may want in two years. Or colledge or a mission (depending on your religion)

What their parents give them, what they earn by doing odd jobs (lawn mowing, babysitting, etc.) and gifts (birthday, Christamas, etc.)... I never let my kids leave the house without some money in their pocket, but not enough to get in trouble with. lol.
