I'm financing a 2005 Toyota Prius with all the add-ons to a total of U$32,000 with monthly payments of U$500 and 30K Mileage.

In your opinion, what would be the best financial move? Should I keep the car and use it until the end? Sell it? Trade in?

I have to go and sign papers for my husband's student loan, and the banks are open from 9:30 - 4 at best, and some from 10:00 - 4. Why is this??

I saw a question on here posed by someone who thought a 24 hour bank would be a good idea... I think that they should be open outside of normal business hours because customers in a bank are busy making money that goes into the bank while the bank is open. It's soooo frustrating!

If you have ever worked in a bank or know someone who does, please tell me why.

YES, I know that some banks are open later - and I wish one of them would be willing to lend my husband money for medical school, but they aren't - so please don't tell me that lots of banks are open later because that will make me much more frustrated than I am right now.

I am currently a Math Major at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and I was recently researching what it is exactly I would like to do when I graduate and I came accross the position of finanacial analyst.
What things should I start doing my last few quarters at Cal Poly in order to make a move into that profession? Are there some classes I can take that would give me a jump up? I know I want my career to be in finance so do you have any sggestions? Are there any licenses that you think would be useful on my resume such as the series 65 (investment analysis)? How does a recent graduate start to move towards this career? Who would hire me? Where should I look? I am currently doing an internship with the accounting department of a corporation, but what else can I do to help employers want me?

I joined true.com free membership and after one week called to cancel they said I was too late and couldn't get a refund. Does anyone know if there is a way to get my money back--like a three day "lemon law" clause?

I'm moving next month and will need to choose a new bank but I'm not sure what exactly to look for. All I need is a checking account that's really about it and there are several reliable old names in the area I'll be living in, I just don't know how to choose one.

Plan to invest 10% of salary. Planning for the long term. I know enough about economics not to get too scared about short term fluctuations. I basically want to maximize very long term returns with a reasonable amount of risk.

What sort of combination of small/mid/large cap + value/blend/growth should I go for.

Any comments on tech in the long term, as well as International vs US investments highly welcome.

Thanks so much! I would really hate to screw this up.

I'd like to see on-going data on the ratio of buyers versus sellers for the broad stock market. I cannot find the data anywhere; I'd think that this would be a valuable statistic and can't believe it's no where to be found.

I'm talking like 50 million dollars. Think about this question and be realistic with yourself. Most people react much differently to winning the lottery than prior to winning.

I owe around $1000 to an online poker site based offshore (will remain nameless, but one of the big ones like Absolute Poker, PartyPoker, PokerStars, Pacific Poker, etc.) I have owed this debt for many months, with no correspondence from the company asking about when I will pay it (after the initial e-mails stating how much I owed). Now I am reading about the possibility of these offshore companies soon not being allowed to accept bets in the United States.

The company did state in an e-mail to me after I inquired that they could employ a collections agency and report the debt to credit bureaus...which would suck. But the thing is...I've owed this debt for so long and they haven't done anything...so I don't know whether they'd actually do this.

Of course the moral thing would absolutely to pay. But I'd also like to save the $1000 if I were to pay it and a few weeks later the company was banned from doing business in the U.S. and thus unable to collect from me.

Any thoughts?

You know how checks are numbered sequentially with a 3 digit number? I had a check done in some electronic fashion, but I still have a physical check in my checkbook with the same number. Can I use this check to write another one without any problems?
