In the company I work at we have a Buying Card program for our business travelers. One of the Administrative Assistants uses her company card to buy business meeting lunches ordered by her direct supervisor, which is also a purpose of the card. However, when she orderes her boss his business meeting lunches , she always buys herself a lunch, even when she is not participating in the meeting.

To me that is just plain wrong and is just as bad as taking money. Yet no one seems to care.

What does everyone else think?

Should we record a 0 cost or how do we account for it? I know we will get a certificate from the charity saying we donated and this is for tax purposes.

I won baseball tickets on Ebay, I requested the total from the seller, but 4 days went by, and the seller did not respond. I won the auction on a saturday, and the game was on the coming friday. I wanted to pay promptly, so he could ship them asap. I kept emailing the seller, with no answer each time. I was very upset, and I told him that I was not interested in buying the tickets anymore because he made me wait so long. He finally emailed me wednesday, saying he was out quote " international(?) (out of town?)" Can he sue me for not paying? What is the worst that could happen if I dont pay? Please help.

My husband and I bank with Bank of America. We have for the past 2 years. My husband has his own business account so he can cash his checks and if he needs something, use his money. He wrote out his truck payment of 405.75 to the bank he got his loan through. They put the check through and it would have only been over drafted $217.43. Well Bank of America returned the check and charged us $35.00. Since my husband wrote out the check for his loan, we hadn't used his account so no money would be taken out. Bank of America saw this. After they returned the check, his account was back in the positive, so he bought food, deisel, and also new business cards. Well, we went up to the bank where he gets his loan, and paid cash. They informed us that they had tried to put the check through again yesterday, but they would not charge us their fee for returned checks.
But now bank of america put the check through this time, with all the charges that my husband had made on diesel, food, and b-cards

If it were evaluated with an interest rate of zero percent, a 10-year ordinary annuity would have a present value of $4,000. If the future (compounded) value of this annuity, evaluated at Year 10, is $6,425, what nominal interest rate must the analyst be using to find the future value?

I can see two different ways of doing this problem.

1) With a $4,000 present value at a zero interest rate, the payment amount is equal to the present value divided by the number of periods (10). Thus, the payment amount is 400.
Now that we have the payment amount, we can plug in the rest of the data into the calculator:

FV=6425
PMT=400
N=10
I/Y=?
Computed: I/Y=10.16296890% or 10.16%

or

2)
PV=4000
FV=6425
N=10
I/Y=?
Computed? I/Y=4.85310944

Which one (if either) is correct?

I cannot think of any customer service hotline that doesn't don't use the automated phone system. Personally I find such system irritating and a waste of time. Although such system save time and money for the company, I don't like such a service experience. How about the rest of you? Like or Hate it? For or Against it?
