I cannot think of any customer service hotline that doesn't don't use the automated phone system. Personally I find such system irritating and a waste of time. Although such system save time and money for the company, I don't like such a service experience. How about the rest of you? Like or Hate it? For or Against it?

If it is clear and gives you enough options, no problem. But many times it doesn't have a "miscellaneous" option so this is when I get irritated. So, I will go with "it depends on the quality of the automated service."

i hate automated systems, especially the ones that when you keep pressing "0" the menu starts over. give me the option of speaking to a human. and no offense to anyone, but if english is not your first language, or if you don't speak it w/o the heavy accent, than please do not answer phones for american based companies

I dislike it very much. But I figure that is because I am old.
