The brakes on my aunt's car went out and when she turned into her driveway she hit the house. SHe is fine both airbags came out, but now the home owners says they will not pay and the car insurance say they will not pay. They said if someone else had hit the house they would. Can anyone give me some insight to the iNSURANCE industry.

My 46-year-old friend was babysitting for her neighbors, in her neighbors' home. The family dog knocked my friend down the stairs, causing my friend to break her jaw and wrist. She has spent many days in the hospital and will require lots of reconstructive surgery, to say the least! Medical bills are already piling up. Shouldn't her neighbors' homeowner's insurance be covering this? They have not offered to contact the company and my friend does not know how to proceed. To make matters worse, the neighbor whose dog caused the injury is an insurance agent!

I am in fairly good health. A 20 yr policy will cost me $99 mo
Is there a better, safe way to invest my money so that I leave a small sum for each of my kids. They all would benefit from an inheritance as they are not well-off.

I have a question about Medical Insurance for my mother. My Father just passed away at age 61 and before he died, my parents had the best Medical Coverage because my dad had a civil service job. He didn't pay a dime into it and only paid $2 per prescription. These jobs are hard to come by. We figured that my mother takes anywhere from $500-800 a month in prescriptions. I was wondering if there are any programs out there to alleviate these costs. My Mother is 56 years old and cannot collect any social security until she is over 60 and cannot get on Medicaid until she is 65. Can someone help me solve this nightmare problem?

If your insurance company is supposed to pay 80% of a procedure, but then refuses...is there any recourse in a matter like this?

It really isn't for me. I know someone I want to make a deal with, and know that he had double knee replacement and this happened to him. I thought that maybe if I helped him out with his problem, it would increase the chance of me securing the deal.

Husband & I were rear ended. Our medical bills are over $15,000. Ins. co offered a total of $9,000. What can I do to get them to raise offer? We filed a lawsuit, In Pro Per. In Discovery phase. we want to settle. Only reason for sing was to protect the "statute date". Injuries were whiplashtype, back and neck strain. What is the usual settlement on this type of case? Can you refer us to case law?
Ins. co admitted fault on behalf of their insured & now they don't want to pay. Should we get a lawyer?

I was traveling at 40 m.p.h. at a 45 mile zone,
a vehicle ran a stop sign and I hit him broadside, now their ins.co. wants me to accept $10,000 (since thats the coverage he supposedly had) on a vehicle I owe $21,000. They say I was 10% at fault since I saw the vehicle pull in front of me and that I could have avoided the accident, I had passengers including my wife, sister in law her 9 mos old baby and my 2 children ages 3 and 7 how is it possible to avoid hitting this vehicle without a rollover or worst? The bad part is that I had a lapse in coverage at the time (unknown at the time) what should I do? I believe the adjuster made a bad assessment of the accident fault investigation he claimed I was going faster than the speed limit, and that I did not use my horn. Can I get more from his Insurance Co. to pay for my car since they claimed it totaled or must I obtain an Attorney? Can anyone advise on this?

Here is my situation. I joined company "A" in 2000 and I left the company "A" in Sep 2007. I had group insurance from company "A" until Sep 2007. I joined company "B" in Oct 2007 but the company "B" did not provide the health insurance and asking me to stay with Cal-Cobra. Still, I did not send my Cal-Cobra election form and debating myself whether to have it or not. I got offer from company "C" and I am willing to join company "C" in December 2007. Company "C" is a big company and the company "C" insurance will be starting as soon as I join the company "C". About my health condition, I don't have any precondition and even my family member don't have any precondition. My question is, do I need to take Cal-Cobra and pay 3400 USD for Oct 2007, Nov 2007 to keep my insurance up to date before joining company "C". Is it safe not to take the Cal-Cobra and have 2 months break in health insurance coverage?

I've made preliminary inquiries to get life insurance for a 78 year-old female, however, I get the standard response of "no" because of her age and the fact that she has been hospitalized in the last year and has pre-existing conditions (COPD, high blood pressure, arhythmia). My sense, however, is that there may be life insurance companies out there with more accomodating terms for senior citizens. If you know of any such companies, or are experienced enough in life insurance to give a definitive "no- it's not possible" response, please let me know. What are our alternatives, if any?
