I know if you do really good on some first interviews you get an offer at that interview but what about ones that they take some time think about hiring you before they hire you and also ones that give a second interview later on.

I have a 'no contest' plea and I'm currently on probation for a domestic dispute. Will employers see this on my record and will I have a problem finding work? It's my first offense my entire life.

A picture of an ex-employee was taken from a co-worker of mine by her Boss. The Boss instructed her that "We do not talk to ex-employees". When she requested to have her picture returned to her the Boss flat out told her "NO".

What rights does she have under Federal Employee Law? Is this considered theft?

My dream has always been to write. I am currently an English major and write regularly. My husband and I decided that if I could make $30,000 or more in one year freelancing part time around my full time job, part time school and family, that I would leave my crappy job and freelance full time. Is this possible?

Looking for some HR people - or anyone who has knowledge - to chime in on this. I'm wondering how easy it is for someone to get away with listing a bachelors degree that they haven't received on their resume. Does the HR department at a large company, such as Sprint or Comcast, usually verify a job candidates degree? Is there a difference if it is an executive or non-executive position the candidate is applying for? Thanks.

The reason I ask, is that I was layed off a couple of years ago, after working for 26 years straight (not necessarily for the same company). That forced me to hunt for new employment which took about 2 1/2 months, however the new employer ended up paying far more than my previous employer.

I'm just wondering if this is a common occurence. Maybe getting layed off forces you to find a better opportunity?

Maybe this won't make much of a difference, but I'm wondering which time-slot I should sign up to interview during. The interviewer will be on campus conducting interviews from 8:30 AM-4:00 PM, with a couple breaks in the middle. There are 6 time slots of an hour each. I'm wondering if it would be to my advantage to go for an early, middle, or late slot. What do you guys think? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I can't stand dead end jobs. I have held about 6 in the past 1 year because I can't hesitate to kiss goodbye anything that doesn't meet my needs. Am I crazy or what? Why should I have patience holding a low wage job or taking shitt from a disrespecting employer?

A few years have gone by and I am just realizing that I've wasted my life in a crummy job. I don't know how to forgive myself. I feel like I've just woken up from a dream and I'm saying "I don't have to take this anymore!" But why the years of sleepwalking--is it low self esteem? Am I just realizing my potential now?

I feel like I'm in a dead end. My last job was wonderful I loved what I did, but my boss and co-workers made it difficult for me to stay there. I was constantly forced to do my co-workers jobs while they did nothing. My boss refused to listen to any concerns. My boss said cruel things to me, I was in the middle of a constant battle between two other coworkers who hated each other. Overall the company just didn't care. So I gave my two weeks and now I'm gone. Except now my ex boss is making it impossible for me to find any decent work. I have been reduced to taking a job that I will hate what I do. Now I feel like I'm stuck. I'm frustrated and hurt. I don't know what to do about it. I have a family to look after and I can't be without work. But it's not right to be so misrable at work that it affects who you are as a person. What can I do now? Anyone have a similar experiance?

I am tired of it and I feel like I need to vent. I have no clue who my boss is anymore. Perhaps everyone! I get to do everyone favors all different departments and all the additional tasks while my boss says nothing! I am overwhelmed and behind in my own work because of those additional tasks. I have no clue who my boss is anymore. What do I do? I just wanted to walk out but i have bills to pay so i can not do that.

I work at a hotel and its independently owned but it is a well known hotel (Im not saying which one because I am paranoid lol) but the owner of the hotel lives across the country and cant watch things at the hotel.
We have been fairly slow lately and when the owner came he was interrogating all the workers about each other. He was trying to get us to tell on each other basically. He asked about my manager and was asking questions like, "what does she do all day?" trying to get me to talk bad about her.
Right before he left he told me to be his "eyes and ears" and to keep an eye on everyone for him.
This makes me very uncomfortable and I think it is unappropriate. I am just the front desk clerk, not the manager, not the front desk manager and I dont apperciate him putting me in that position. Im not getting paid to do that you know? What should I do because I dont think this is right and I dont want to be part of all that drama. I just want to do my job. Does that seem right to you?

I like my job, its very relax easy, no pressure from boss and the pay is not bad. I recently started grad school and i am even able to do some homework at work. What else could i want? Well, its seems to me that i am getting rusty, my job is not really associated with my area of study or my future goals in career. seems that more i stay at my "easy" job the less knowledgeable i get on my field of interest, because i don't practice it and my job is not challenging me, its just simple tasks. I was thinking i'll get a job after grad school, but thats 2 more years away. Seems that the more i wait, the rustier and less knowledgeable i'll get. Should i get a job thats related to my field of interest? or stay at this unchallenging job, wait 'till grad school ends and than look for something? Thank You
