A few years have gone by and I am just realizing that I've wasted my life in a crummy job. I don't know how to forgive myself. I feel like I've just woken up from a dream and I'm saying "I don't have to take this anymore!" But why the years of sleepwalking--is it low self esteem? Am I just realizing my potential now?

Sugar,

This form of "sleepwalking" is known as a "Comfort Zone". You keep doing what you are doing because it is familiar to you and you are comfortable with it.

I spent 16 years in that zone and boy, am I ever glad I snapped out of it!

Most people are not even aware of this state. They will sit and daydream about what they would like to do or what they would like to have but return to their comfortable job and throw their dreams into the wind.

When I finally made up my mind to step out on a limb and take a risk, I started my own business and have never looked back. I finally realized I had spent 16 years of my life making someone else financially secure while I struggled paycheck to paycheck.

I have an article that may help direct you and shed some light on this comfort zone for you if you would like it. It is too long to send through answers messaging so if you would email me at bonnieram1962@yahoo.com I will be glad to email you a copy. Just let me know that you want the article that will expand your comfort zone.

I wish you all the best and look forward to helping you.

You have not brainwashed yourself but you have learned a valuable lesson. You have finally seen the light! There is a time in everyone's life when that light bulb finally glows. I had that happen to me today, believe it or not. I had been struggling with a problem that I didn't know how to solve and BINGO! So what you are going through is natural. I've included a video for you!

yes, low self esteem, falling in to a comfortable rut, fear of change...pick one, pick all, but now that you've woken up, get a better job or go back to school or something...
