I need to ask you a few questions, like what is the dress code, any interview tips, what is the general atmosphere... I already work as a tech for another large chain, just hoping not to have to commute anymore.

I am during a survey regarding men and women in the work force. Please include your gender and age in your answer. I would like to find out in the answers if male and female opinions vary as to whether more is expected from women in the work force as opposed to men. I'm sure I will get some interesting answers and look forward to getting as many answers as I can get. Thank you in advance. Lori.

After a couple of years of looking finally found a job in an ideal city about five months ago. Saw an ad for what may be my dream job, a job I'm highly qualified for. I'm just worried about not being considered due to the short time I've been with my present company. Is there anything I might do to my resume to make it sound a little better, maybe a comment at the bottom? Thanks.

I was just asked to do data entry work for a local cemetery. They need me to input all of their records into a program that I created. They need ALL of them put into this database. There is over 16,000 entries to be made. I know one of the people who works for the cemetery and I do not want to charge too much but with all of the time and work that I going to have to put into this to get the job done and in a timely manner. Please only serious responses.

I'm an extremely good worker, although maybe a little assertive at times. My manager used to be really nice, but now, she bitches at me anytime I approach her. Twice in the last 2 days, I approached her for something I could only ask her, and no other worker, and she yelled at me, saying HELLO, go ask someone else (this isnt something I can ask any other manager or should know myself).

I got so mad today that I got a headache, and told her I had to leave a few hrs early.

Sheesh...why do bosses think they can humiliate workers, and in front of others? I wasnt trying to annoy her, and she didnt seem busy!

I already have a job, but the position does not offer me benefits, and there is an extremely small chance of advancement. I could move laterally, but upward mobility is highly unlikely.

I know the obvious things like not conducting the job search using the company computers, don't save the materials onto the computer at work, conduct phone calls discreetly or outside, don't give the contact info as your work email/number, try to take time off or be discreet if interviewing, etc. Any other hints?

i can't say that i'm thrilled about the idea of working, but i guess it has to be done since i'm not wealthy. i just don't want to end up in a high paying job that i hate.

if i have to work i mighy as well enjoy what i do, right? i have an english b.a. but don't really want to become a teacher. those little tests on the internet that are suppose to help find a job/s that fits your personailty differ from one to the next.

HOW CAN I FIND A JOB THAT I'LL ENJOY; good money doens't hurt but i'd rather enjoy going to work than being miserable.

I work interdepartmentally (is that a word? :-)) as a Technology sales associate and a print specialist in a Retail store (Office Depot). I have only Retail experience going for me right now. My desire is to get out of Retail and get a Clerical job. A desk job, basically. One of those jobs that most people consider to be 'boring', where you sit behind a desk all day and deal with paperwork or whatever. That's fine with me. I don't have a good phone voice and I'm terrible with answering phones, so definitely not 'administrative'. I'm good with computers. I don't have any specific training other than classes I took in high school. I didn't go to college after high school, because I'm simply not interested in it. I'd rather work my way up, regardless of what this and that person thinks I should do; and most people do the "you should go to college!" comment.

I'm simply look for an Entry-Level Clerical job where I don't have to answer phones and such. What's the best way to find these?

The only real job I've had, aside from Mcdonald's for a month, was as an "exotic dancer" for almost 6 years. How do I put that on a resume? And what is the best way of talking about this kind of job in interviews?
A lot of the girls I work with told me to put Entertainer, but I'm sure I'd be asked all sorts of questions in an interview about this title.
Look I'm trying to change my life around and get a professional office-type job so if theres anything you can do to help, I'd appreciate it.

I recently returned to work as an assistant supervisor of a group home for 5 MR men, after a 3 year hiatus caring for my parents. I've been on the job 45 days and have found much of the staff to be dishonest.

This evening my boss, informed me that she has a "crush" on me. This came out of left field, as I'm 10 years older, professional and not particularly inclined to go out with my boss, who is also 385# and has a 7 year old daughter. I'm also gay-100% gay, but not fem. I only want to do my job and enjoy my health insurance, something I did without those 3 years.

I was flabberghasted, but handled it well, and just as I started to describe myself as a kind of "loner," so help me, one of the toilets overflowed, requiring immediate attention, etc.

I know it's sexist to go by the adage "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned," but since I know that she is a gossip and very co-dependent with her other employees (frankly bad boundaries), I am getting a bad feeling. Any advice
