It is wonderful. You have to be dedicated and willing to work well with others. You need to be physically fit, and also have a desire to help other people. The work is very rewarding

Perhaps you could try it out by being a volunteer firefighter to see if you would like this type of work.

The hours are long but the days a month are few, plenty of time off to enjoy things<<<>>>

Around here anyway, it pays very well. However the shifts suck. It's not 8 hours a day. It's several 24 hour shifts a week.
