i can't say that i'm thrilled about the idea of working, but i guess it has to be done since i'm not wealthy. i just don't want to end up in a high paying job that i hate.

if i have to work i mighy as well enjoy what i do, right? i have an english b.a. but don't really want to become a teacher. those little tests on the internet that are suppose to help find a job/s that fits your personailty differ from one to the next.

HOW CAN I FIND A JOB THAT I'LL ENJOY; good money doens't hurt but i'd rather enjoy going to work than being miserable.

I'm glad you asked! When I attended college there was this one book that was required reading for all in-coming freshmans titled "Do What You Are" by Paul D. Tieger.

In a nutshell what it does is use a concise version of the Myers Briggs Personality Test to determine the areas you would do well in and enjoy based on your personality.

There will first be these 4 boxes of info--real brief, takes just a short time--and you read both sides and determine by what you read in those 4 boxes which type you are. You will either relate more to what it says on the Left Side or the Right Side of the box.

After you do the 4 boxes you will know what your 4 letters are. I believe I am an INFP or something like that. You then turn to the section of the book with your 4 letters and it will tell you different career paths that would fit best with who you are and sometimes it will give stories that are interesting too.

The thing is, although I haven't just been in one career in my life, every career I have done well in was in that list they gave for the INFP's or a derivation of it.

If you're library doesn't have it, inter-library loan it or purchase from Amazon.com I always keep 2 copies because 1 copy always walks out my door which I really don't mind because I consider it a gem.

Better than the Pathfinder career or Parachute career books.

Write, blog, write a column, be a word smith. You need to try something in order to know whether you will like it or not. All jobs have their good and bad points, I'm in a job I like very much, cant seem to make any money at it but I gain experience everyday, besides while your looking for your dream job remember this: it's easier to find a job while your working than when you are out of work.

You may have to settle for a job you don't like just to get started and have an income until something better comes along. Get your first job first. Who knows after you have worked for a couple of months you may find that you do like working after all and you may be offered a better job just for being a good employee.
