I work in a smoke-free building and find that the ones that do smoke are taking a smoke break every hour or two to smoke. These breaks usually last 10-20 minutes. I am not given a break every hour or two to go do something. We work the same work day and if you do the math at an average fifteen minutes every two hours they are getting paid to smoke for an hour. I have asked several smokers and my boss about this and they say they come into work early and leave later to make up for the time but rest assured, this doesn't happen. Curious what your thoughts are.

I've been surfing the net and comed across hundreds of data entry jobs on line. It sounds like the perfect job for a home mom. But are they real? They all ask some sort of fee to join. Which doesn't make any sense, why would anyone have to pay someone to work for them? I wouldn't tell an employer interviewing me "sure I'll start work for a one time fee of $49.99 or I'll be your gold member for $99.99. Just doesn't make sense. But they all claim to be making thousads a week. Has anyone here ever tried joining one? Please respond Im very curious.

I am qualified as a Secondary school teacher of French and German. I completed my training last year, and recently got a temporary part time job (maternity cover) in a school in a very rough area, which was just out of special measures.

I should never have taken the job - I had my doubts about it to begin with, but the reality of the job was beyond my fears. The kids had no respect. I was sworn at, assaulted, and could not control the classes. After 3 weeks, I had become so ill with stress I had to hand in my notice and quit. It was a terrible experience but I think I have destroyed my career in teaching because of it. After all, who would trust me enough to take me on in another school knowing I quit this one?

So now I am left not knowing what to do. I am 31. I have a progressive kidney disease which will put me on dialysis some time in the next 15 years, and a son with autism. I need a pretty relaxed job, but how can I change career path now?

I got into a fight with a supervisor a few days ago because my team of managers (2 of which were not by any means qualified for the job) didn't prep their ad which is a part of their JOB and an ongoing issue. Them not prepping it put me behind in the morning, as it does every Sunday morning.

I then left the 3 of them a note (it came out a lot more nasty then I meant it to) on their desk that they have to be prepped (which I admit I shouldn't have worded the note the way I did). I left the note because no one is ever held accountable for what they do and don't do at my job, and I knew that they would continue to slack if I didn't do anything about it.

Basically, the supervisor thing doesn't bother me at all because everyone has a problem with her and many people have fought with her. The only thing I'm worried about is facing one of my 3 co-workers: she's one of those "no one messes with me" / "I'm a b*tch" always has an attitude type.

Any advice / similar experiences?

I was accused of taking money from my employer, which is a grocery store. I was wondering if I should up and quit. I have never stolen anything in my life and I get very offended if someone accuses me of such things. I also wasn't the only person responsible for the money either. So was my boss and a few other people. My boss blames me. They said we aren't accusing you of stealing but you were responsible for the money and its missing. Which sounds alot like accusing to me. I am planing to go into law enforcement so I couldn't get a hit on my record like that. I was afraid that if I quit it would be like admiting guilt. So should I quit?

When I passed all the tests I don't remember hearing it would be a 6 month assignment. When you think temporary you think ok iif I do good they'll keep me. But now I'm shocked because I'm afraid I won't have an income in 6 months. I was told if I do good I'll be put on a good list and they decide what to do from there. Yikes. Any suggestions? What should I do? HELP! I'm trying to rent out a place but now I may not be able to.

I'd like to find some part-time work that I can do in my own home without special skills or special equipment, preferably using my computer and possibly my telephone. I'd also like to avoid scams or questionable ventures. Anyone have any insights to share with me? Thank you!
