I am qualified as a Secondary school teacher of French and German. I completed my training last year, and recently got a temporary part time job (maternity cover) in a school in a very rough area, which was just out of special measures.

I should never have taken the job - I had my doubts about it to begin with, but the reality of the job was beyond my fears. The kids had no respect. I was sworn at, assaulted, and could not control the classes. After 3 weeks, I had become so ill with stress I had to hand in my notice and quit. It was a terrible experience but I think I have destroyed my career in teaching because of it. After all, who would trust me enough to take me on in another school knowing I quit this one?

So now I am left not knowing what to do. I am 31. I have a progressive kidney disease which will put me on dialysis some time in the next 15 years, and a son with autism. I need a pretty relaxed job, but how can I change career path now?

Helly!

Dont give up now, you have put a lot into your career choice, treat it as experience and move on to a better school in a better area, tell them about your experience they will understand, all teachers have been there at one time or other, thats life. Go for it, its your life you are talking about. Good luck helly !

Best work under the sun (I now think) is Internet Marketing. I now work for a company that focuses on Webucation or teaching people how to be successful over the Internet. Interested?

If so, you may want to visit: http://TopFredoms.com (fill in 5 item form) or call 1-800-476-8427 (3 minute recording).

You just got the wrong school. Teach a different age group. Watch the movie Dangerous Minds. You taught them to treat you poorly. Show those punks what's up from the get go- if you are not supported from your staff when you refer them out, it's the wrong school. If it was me, they woudn't know what hit them.

15 SUMMERS THAT'S HOW I LIKE TO LOOK AT IT , IT'S SOBERING IS,NT IT , AND TO ADD MORE TO THE DISH
YOUR SON HAS AUTISM,LET'S NOT TALK ABOUT THE REST
FROM MY VIEW OF YOUR LIFE YOU NEED A MAJOR CHANGE
NOT JUST A CAREER CHANGE .HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF
ASKING THE ONE WHO DESIGNED YOU , (JESUS) WHAT HE THINKS,OF YOUR SITUATION , OR ARE YOU FRIGHTEN OF
WHAT HE WOULD SAY.HERE'S AN IDEA, GIVE JESUS YOUR HEART YOUR WHOLE HEART NOT 1/4 NOT1/2 A HEART AND SEE WHAT HE CAN DO . SUGGESTION GO TO A BORN AGAIN CHURCH , ONE WHICH TELLS GODS RESTORING MESSAGE,AND LOVE OF PEOPLE, LITTLE REMINDER GODS PEOPLE DON'T ALWAYS REPRESENT HIM LIKE WE SHOULD , WE HAVE PROBLEMS LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE,
AND REMEMBER THREE BASIC THINGS,PRAY EVERY DAY
FOR YOU AND YOUR SON , READ YOUR BIBLE EVERYDAY
AND GO TO CHURCH, AND YOU NEED A FINANCIAL EDUCATION , READ BOOKS SUCH AS RICH DAD POOR DAD , BUY HIS BOARD GAMES CASH FLOW 101& 202 . REMEMBER WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR THINKING YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
