I want to become a college professor, and to do that you need a PhD. I just graduated with my BA, which is in a field that a BA is useless in (you need a Master's or PhD to work in this field). I currently work in retail and I plan to continue working there for the next 2 years so I can save up money and pay for the rest of my education rather than go now and get student loans and be in debt.
Everyone I know including my family keeps making me feel bad and saying stuff like I'm an idiot for working at a minimum wage job and they keep saying things like Why are you working a job that high school drop outs and 15 year old idiots have when you have a college degree. I'm getting really annoyed but unfortunately, cause they've been saying this for a while now over and over again, I'm kinda starting to believe it. Any suggestions or ideas on what to do to shut them up?

the landlord is trying to charge a 500 dollar pet fee two weeks after we moved. we told the landlord's mother we had a dog and she said it should be fine and didn't think anything of it. the lease says NOTHING about animals at all.

I own a home and the amount of my mortgage is going to change within the next year to an amount I will not be able to afford to pay. I know that it was my dumb error for getting this loan so you don't need to remind me of that but at the same time I truthfully did not know this would happen otherwise I would not have gotten the loan. The person who did my loan did not explain the loan to me correctly and I was too trusting. Anyways because the house market is going down I can't find anyone to refinance me into an affordable loan and I also rented out the house just recently which is making it harder for me to refinance it as well. I am worried that when my house payments go up I am not going to be able to afford to pay the difference on the mortgage (I already have it rented out for higher then it should be rented for) and then my house is going to be foreclosed on while I have renters in it. Any tips, suggestion, or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Jobs for accountant major with no AA or BS accounting degree ???

I still in college, I am thinking about accountant major. that's why I think will take some classes for accountant. I would like to look for some job to get experience for accountant, so I will know I like accountant or not. I dont know if I take a job in a bank, like a bank teller. Will this job give me experience about accountant ? if not please reccommend me some jobs to know about accountants.

I'm trying to get a job in Northern VA, but I live in NC. I know that some employers don't pay much attention to out of state applicants and was wondering if it was ok to use a friend's address in VA instead. My friend says I have her permission to use it, but doesn't that pose a legal issue to lie about your address to potential employers?

I was wondering what is considered a good credit score? I checked mine, and it seems pretty high, but I need a personal loan for 3000, so that I can move accross the country... I work as a Student Loan Specialist, answering questions and what not, but we're still not trained on what is considered a "good" credit score... does anyone know the ranges on them? any help would be great, thanks.

I want to build a new construction home. The loans I have researched want interest-only payments until the house is complete. That is impossible considering that would be as much as a house payment and I already have a hefty one of those! I will make a nice profit off my house once it's sold but I can't do that until my new home is built. And I can't build my new house until.......you see my problem?! They also require $5K down. Can that be included in the one loan I get so I don't have to take out two loans? I have to be overlooking something. I can't imagine it's this difficult for everyone who already owns a home and wants to build. Any tips or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!!

I've done one charter on a 47 seat coach. Cost me $90 per hour for four hours driving and $30 per hour for six hours waiting, for a total of $540. I sold 46 seats for $30 each on this trip, that's $1380. I ran an ad in a local weekly paper for two weeks and that cost about $100. I put an ad on a local radio station that cost $150 for 15 times played.
I made nearly $600 for about 20 hours work. The bus was old but rebuilt (1984). It was OK, but nothing to brag about. This company has two similar buses.
Another company I contacted has somewhat newer buses, most 1988-93. They also have a few 45' buses, which seat 55, vs. 40' buses which seat only 47. Some of their buses are 8' wide and some are 8'6" wide.The company I used only has 8' wide buses.
The costs with the other company are about 25% higher. The buses are still pretty old, but again rebuilt and look OK. For future trips, what would you choose? Would slightly newer be worth slightly more money?
