I was wondering what is considered a good credit score? I checked mine, and it seems pretty high, but I need a personal loan for 3000, so that I can move accross the country... I work as a Student Loan Specialist, answering questions and what not, but we're still not trained on what is considered a "good" credit score... does anyone know the ranges on them? any help would be great, thanks.

you can get most loans if you score is above 700.
As long as your debt to income is at acceptable levels.

i agree with what L-Boogie says. if trying to obtain a personal loan as i have recently done to make a few home repairs, i would have to share with you that my loan officer told me he could only loan me @$2,000.00, my score was at about 640 or so.im assuming that if u have other financial responsibilities try and keep them paid up as best as u can, that in time should help ur score rating.im sure we are not all perfect...good luck !

For most major loans - such as car loans and mortgage loans, 620 is the "get-your-foot-in-the-door" score that will afford you a decent interest rate. Obviously, the higher the better.
Good luck!

Go to 'prosper.com' that is a great place to get a loan. Your considered a good risk at 640 but 680 gets you what you want....
