Have you contacted Paypal directly? Many times people will contact you only pretending to be from Paypal when really they are criminals preying on honest people. Somehow they are able to make themselves look just like Paypal. The same thing goes on with ebay where people contact you with ebay email addresses in an attempt to steal your information. Was this a ebay transaction? If so, they may be able to help. It may help to contact the Paypal Dispute Resolution department. If you really think that the crooks are within Paypal, dispute the charge with your bank. They may have to do the fighting for you. Good luck.

More details are needed. This happened to me with PayPal (for a smaller amount) but they fixed it immediately -- no questions asked.

Can you show PayPal a balance before and after?
Do you have a date the funds were removed?
PayPal will be able to show you the details of the transaction.

PayPal has worked great for me, especially when dealing with multiple currencies.

Money was taken by Paypal that you didn't authorize? Or the seller didn't send you the goods that you bought? Makes a big difference.

The other thing is, I get a lot of emails claiming to be from Paypal and saying my account needs verification - did you respond to one of those? Those aren't really from Paypal, they are scams, so if you responded, you've been scammed.

The first thing I would do is contact the police asap!

Collect all the details you have and let the police sort it for you its fraud whoever did it.

Good Luck and ring them now!
