Here is a question for my accounting textbook: Ken is offered the possibility of investing $2,745 today and in return to receive $10,000 after 15 years. What is the annual rate of interest for this investment?

What steps do you use to figure out the annual interest rate?

I have successfully shortlisted for the final management interview for an airline and i'm very confident that i'll be selected as a flight attendant but i am not sure if this is what i want to do for the following 5 years as stated in the contract.I am looking forward to be part of the professionals in this service industry but not so keen on the 5 years bond.
My parents are not so keen on me joining as FA but they say is all up to my decision. This really a setback because i don't want to disappoint my parents. My friends says a lot of people been dying to get the job and is not easy to get the FA career but since i've gotten the chance then go for it.
Please advise me especially parents with daughter as FA.I would really appreciate what parents will think about this.

I would love to become a real estate agent. I seem to have a passion for evaluating real estate, amoung other things concerning the industry.

How much, on average, does a real estate agent make in a year. Can you be a real estate agent and have a middle to upper middle class lifestyle (while providing for your family)?

I have registered a single employee corporation, which is based in Texas. I provide consutling services in the software field and my clients pay my company on C2C basis and I have to pay all the taxes.

I am new to this. So I would like to take some suggestions from the forum. I've been reading the differences between S and C corporations. As far i understood, it looks like C corporation has to pay more taxes. Should I change my corporation to S?

The two week trial was not long enough for me to know how much their system sucks. It takes forever to get my movies. I send in 3 and it receives one then takes like 2-3 days to receive the other two. Then it takes forever to ship. What's the deal? Why do they suck? I want Netflix. Do you think I can get them to refund my first month's subscription payment?

I've actually heard that Netflix was getting sued long ago because their 30 day trial was said not to be long enough. I don't have to sue Blockbuster, I just want a refund.

Friends have told me that Netflix is faster...I fell into Blockbuster because of their option to return to a store (which I don't really need).

I'm sure this is repeating others, but I want to clarify my situation. Hubby-to-be has many collections on his report that I'm trying to clear up. Most of them can be paid, but we're not made of money We got a copy of his credit report, which gives estimated dates of when the items will be removed. Does this mean whether they are paid or not, they are removed? For instance, one that hasn't been paid is due to fall off on 4/2007. Will this actually happen, or will it somehow stay on for another 7 years? I never had to deal with this on my own credit report as all my mistakes were made when I was 18/19 or so. Also, with medical collections, are those shown on his credit report if pulled by a bank or something like that? My understanding was that it wouldn't, but who really knows? I'm sure it affects his score, but I don't know if it can actually be seen. Thanks!

People who said renting was foolish, are just that FOOLS !
I ran the numbers, and if someone were to rent for let's say $1,000 a month, and invest $500/ month into some mutual funds every month, in 20 yrs they'd be better off by far. The housing boom is over !
Renting is the way to go, you're never trapped like a house, no HIGH TAXES, INSURANCE, LAWN MOWING, LEAKY ROOFS, ELECTRIC BILLS UP THE WAZOO, ON AND ON AND ON.
People actually are dumb enough to think they make a profit on a house, but they fail to remember all the taxes, and misc. bills each month, most barely break even. I will be selling my place this year and renting, investing in the market each month with no headaches, and no frivolous bills like $400/ month just for heat.

WAKE UP FOLKS, HOUSES ARE A TRAP, A LIABILITY, NOT AN INVESTMENT. DON'T BELIEVE ME, SHOW ME ONE GUY RENTING IN FORECLOSURE!! CASE CLOSED.

p.s. the only people who made money on houses were 15 yrs ago, and that was just dumb luck.

A friend of mine's former employer filed for bankruptcy last year, chapter 15 I believe. She hasn't recieved a W2 from them, and I was curious about her tax liabilities in a case like this. The employer was witholding taxes, but apparently not as much as they should have because she was not claiming her daughters as dependents. If she owes, how much is it, and how can she figure it out?
