My daughter is a waitress and her employer has not counted tips. She will receive a small w-2 I'm sure for the small amount she receives in addition to tips, about $2.14/hr I think. She's 17. Does she file with me or on her own?

I have heard that it is against the law to not give your employees thier W2's by the end of January...is this correct?? If not what is the latest that a bussiness can hand out its employees W2's?

I was employed last year by a family owned bussiness. When I was first hired I was told that the first three months I would not have taxes taken from my check. After the three months, once she decided to keep me on the payroll, she would then have me fill out paperwork and begin to deduct taxes from my paychecks. She never did start taking taxes from me. Now it is tax time and I am not too sure what to do. She has not brought up anything about giving me a W2 or anything regarding taxes. If she does give me a W2 it will hurt me serverely because I will end up owing Uncle Sam. When I spoke to my in laws about this I was told that in order for her to get a tax break she has to claim that she payed an employee, therefore she will most likely want to give me a W2. My question is that doesn't she legally have to not only give the goverment some of my pay in the form or taxes but also match the money that is pulled from my paycheck for my social security?

send a follow up e-mail to a potential employer that I haven't heard from yet?

I have had two interviews and an interview project for this job with a nonprofit organization. I really want the job, think it sounds really interesting, different etc. After the second interview, I sent a thank you e-mail to the person who interviewed me. (He was an executive with the organization.) About a week later I sent a follow up e-mail to the person who first interviewed me. She said that they'd be making their final decision soon and that I should be hearing from them by the middle of this week. I've waited on pins and needles this week but haven't heard anything! Am I out of luck? Should I send one more e-mail (maybe to my second interviewer) asking if the position has been filled? Please advise. Thanks so much.

And, what is being processed during that time? During this time, would I be able to save extra money for costs associated with Closing, etc.

Thanks.

I am thinking about buying an older house, but I have discovered that someone has a 40ft x 5 ft. section of land that runs through about 3 feet of my house (even inside the house). What can be done to aquire this land should the owner refuse to sell? No joke, the gis map shows this line right through the bedroom , etc.

This will be my first year for alot of things this year.I am no longer a dependent under my mother.I got married last year. And I had a baby.Same goes for my husband .We have no clue where to start.I read on here neither of us can claim head of household and we don't know why.Should we file seperate or together.Who should claim our daughter.I didn't work much last year due to I was pregnant. We are both in school also(if that counts for anything )I heard from somewhere that my husband could claim me because I was out of work during prenancy. What can we claim on our taxes is daycare or clothes something we can claim. We really just have no clue what to do and we want to be prepared .We don't want those tax people just telling us anything

I am planning to do H&R Block tax training course in Australia and as a part of the material they sent me, they say that if you score above 80% in the course, you get a chance to work for them as seasonal tax consultant.

Is this actually the case?

Also they say that if ur selected to work for them during the tax season, they provide you with additional training. What does this involve?

Also, what is the level of diffculty of the course and its assessment methodology?

I have just been approved for a First Time Homebuyers Purchase Loan for the amount of $125,000. in Southern New Jersey (this may not seem to be much but, I do not earn a great deal, and am single, with no real responsibilities). I am looking to purchase a 2-3 bedroom, 1+ bathroom Townhouse, with a family room.

Anyhow, I have 100% financing, and am planning to ask for a Seller's Concession for pay for Closing Costs.

What are some expected out-of-pocket fees that I may have to pay at settlement. And, if there are any, what is a TOTAL sum of an Estimated amount that I should have on hand for these expenses.

I am hoping that the amount of money I am required to pay will not be a great deal, and I will be able to pay them from my Paycheck. In addition, I do have at least $2800. set aside.

Thanks.
